k9pal started as an idea formed in the early hours of HSHacks 2. We're a beginner team with an interest in bluetooth technology. One of our ideas was to have a bluetooth wearable device fitted on a dog collar that could help train them. Our target users are new dog owners and breeders. The app uses the principle of positive reinforcement to make a sound when the dog does something correctly. The owner/trainer presses a button on their phone in order to emit one of four sounds in order to reinforce the dog's understanding of good behavior. We're very proud to present the app with an integrated website in order to track the progress of every dog. Future upgrades will include a vibration motor, wi-fi adapter, and silent dog guidance.
