Inspiration
Regina was talking about this roleplaying game that she plays, and it takes up a lot of her time that she could instead use to study So we thought what if she can study and play the game at the same time? Instead of learning depriving our happiness it can be a source of it.
What it does
In brief note we had a fictional story with surprising elements and a lot of twists, and we teaches a variety of fields in our questions. To answer more questions right you get more points, but if you get choose a stupid option, you "get thrown into the volcano". In the end you die anyway, and the lesson here is that you still have to study in real life regardless of any games you play.
How we built it
Renpy, Replit to collaborate, image editors.
Challenges we ran into
Not enough time to focus on the details, so we decided to run the outline first and make sure it will make sense
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're able to create something we have and no one have ever done before, and in the process learn a new style of code
What we learned
Merging visual representations, coding in Renpy, making elements of a good plot line.
What's next for LearnOrBurn
This is only one story and there's only so many information we can incooporate in a program, if we're able to expand on this project we can add in details and effects to make the visual better.
