Inspiration
Just wanted to build something chill, you know? A little fun to spice up the day.
What it does
A browser extension that slaps Reddit memes onto your screen to cure that boredom that hits when you’re deep in those long, boring articles. Meme therapy, basically.
How we built it
Used the classics: HTML, CSS, and JS. Simple but effective.
Challenges we ran into
Tbh, dealing with meme APIs was a bit of a struggle, but we powered through. Also, making sure it didn’t ruin the vibe of reading was a challenge—balance, you know?
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Got it up and running! Memes are now part of our workflow, and it’s pretty smooth. Also, the code’s clean and it actually works, which is always a win.
What we learned
Turns out integrating APIs isn’t as hard as I thought... once you figure out the format. Also, the power of a good meme can’t be underestimated—it’s like caffeine for your brain.
What's next for Lolify
Add more meme sources (Instagram, Twitter, wherever the memes are at). Maybe let users upvote their fave memes for extra personalization. Fine-tune it to be more intuitive (like, automatically showing memes only when you need them). And who knows? Maybe meme notifications coming soon... (jk, or maybe not).
