Inspiration

I work at the UTA CSE front desk where we receive mail and our mailroom is very big and has very small writing. Some professors mailboxes I have memorized but other I have not. This results in me pacing back and forth for a minute or so trying to find it.

What it does

We use your camera to scan your mail and recognize names. This then causes the ESP8266 to turn on its designated LED

How we built it

We built it using Xcode & Arduino IDE

Challenges we ran into

The hardest things were always the little things such as getting ahold of an LED kit, debugging why the code isn't working, specific drivers to get things working, etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting it all working properly

What we learned

How to use Arduino IDE with the ESP platform and apples framework for image text recognition

What's next for MailmanPRO

Adding more user friendly features such as adding professors, adding text autocorrect.
