Inspiration
Our inspiration came from our love for code and math. One of our members mentioned Mathletics, a math competition for kids, and it sparked creative insights into our minds. We decided that we'd recreate Mathletics, but with a twist-- the competition would be for students and adults, and the judge? A generative AI capable of giving accurate feedback to the submissions
What it does
Similar to Mathletics, the user can input their answers to our questions whilst competing in a lobby of 10 people. Once the question is submitted, it will be judged by our AI judge.
How we built it
We used a combination of Next.js with react and GPT-4o along with a python backend to create the site.
Challenges we ran into
We surprisingly didn't encounter many issues. Our biggest issue was coming up with the idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We completed our webapp 2 hours ahead of schedule!
What we learned
A unanimous agreement was that we learned more about creating a nice user experience for our app. We learned to think like the users of our app because we ourselves will be the users for our app and the target audience.
What's next for MathForces
We're proud of what we have done in such a short time. Our goal is to reduce the cost of submissions since we are relying on a GPT based API. After that, we would like to host our site to the web!
