Inspiration

One third of all food produced globally is wasted. That's 1.3 billion tonnes a year. In Canada, this translates into 2.2 million tonnes= $17 billion.

What it does

Zero Waste is an app that tracks food consumption and reduces food waste by suggesting recipes to use with available food before it expires.

How I built it

We used mockup design app Marvel to design a prototype.

The app not only helps track food consumption but reduce food waste.

What we learned

One small step for each individual, a giant leap for humanity. Teamwork galvanizes cooperation.

What's next for Moonshot

We're looking at Voice activation capability; offering the app in multiple languages; working with health care providers, nutritionists and pharmaceutical companies to offer the same tracking and waste reduction modalities for cosmetics and medication; taking it from the local and national stage to the international one.
