Inspiration
I was at HackUTA and I noticed that a lot of the first time judges found it hard to follow the 3 minute pitch/1 minute Q&A for judging. Sometimes its hard to say no and walk away
What it does
Its a hackathon badge timer that(in theory) would play spooky noises in order to "scare" the judges to their next table
How I built it
Hardware: Esp8266 PN532 I2C Display LED(in place of a speaker) NFC NTG215 tags
Software: VSCode with PlatformIO extension Arduino framework
Challenges we ran into
Getting the proper functions in order to get the NFC reading working nicely with the display code. Making the state machine, wiring it up, etc.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting a pretty good prototype. It exactly what I had in mind minus the speaker
What I learned
How to use the NFC reader with a microcontroller. Some Sveltekit(although I couldn't finish that part)
What's next for SpookyJury
Make a PCB Version that can have the parts soldered on
Built With
- arudino
- esp32
- esp8266
- nfc
