Inspiration
Thinking about the prompt, I thought about my own journey learning about NFTs on media platforms. When I wanted to purchase, I considered several separate existing platforms that allow users to buy and sell NFTs like Opensea, Rarible, and FTX. But, the current platforms were hard to use and not engaging.
I realized that current media platforms are extremely effective at teaching and keeping users engaged. I then had an idea to develop a platform that borrows aspects of the entertainment media and platforms to buy and sell NFTs. Thus, NFP was born.
What it does
NFP allows users to create engaging content to showcase projects to people who want to potentially purchase. Users using the platform can also create content, showcase their collection, and scroll through a feed to discover content and NFT projects. In addition, the platform can help people by providing courses making NFTs a lower barrier to entry.
How we built it
I used wireframe.cc to create an outline of our application, then used AdobeXD to create a mockup.
Challenges we ran into
I spent too much time debating the potential ideas and the problems that we might run into. This caused us to be at a time disadvantage and made it harder for me to build an actual minimum viable product (MVP) that involved code. Another issue I ran into was debating on whether to monetize this app or not and ways this app can be monetized and attract potential users if we wanted to go down that path.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
There are two accomplishments that I am proud of for this hackathon competition. The first of which is coming up with a unique solution to the problem that was presented in a short period of time. The second of which is the wireframe and how well developed it was in terms of showcasing everything I want the user to see.
What we learned
One thing that I learned is being creative by considering not just my technical expertise but interests. I learned to build the platform prototype by thinking about others' pain points and solving problems to current trends. I also learned how to incorporate data research into developing and validating our prototype features.
What's next for NFP
Unfortunately, the time allotted was only enough for me to design a prototype and not a product. The next step for NFP is a proof of concept (PoC) that will include the main user interface and some of the features described in the prototype. The PoC might lead to a potential demo that can be tested locally.
People get on our app, Successfully use it, then what? In the future, we want to retain users by Short Form Courses, being on a decentralized network, having Event/Training Sessions, Enterprise Opportunities, and better discovery features.
