Inspiration

We wanted to help contribute to helping people's daily nutrition while emphasizing the effect it has on mental and emotional health.

What it does

Nutranimals is a Web-Based nutrition tracker and wellness journal that rewards you with collectible creatures called Nutranimals.

How we built it

We built Nutranimals using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with Electron as our framework. We also used Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop for our graphical design.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were loss of internet, git merge conflicts, CSS issues, and a lack of sleep.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to get a fully functional demo complete with multiple Nutranimals. We are especially proud of our original artwork and ability to complete a working back-end and front-end.

What we learned

We learned a lot about JavaScript and CSS, as well as the importance of doing things in a more correct way rather than a quick and simple way, as not doing so can cause issues later on in development. We also learned that it would be helpful to have more than one person working on the front-end and that it would be very helpful to use a database next time.

What's next for Nutranimals

We hope to include an expanded character database, a database that contains information about common meal entries, an authentication system, and the ability to log more entries in your sticker book.
