Inspiration

We drew inspiration from frustrations of students who struggle finding help on a one to one discussion sections. This will make learning meaningful and memorable while strengthening the connections students have with their knowledge.

What it does

This app allows students and tutors both to submit the courses they have taken and list, search courses that can help them with the courses and schedule a time slot to work on the course subject.

How we built it

Developed Progressive Web App (PWA) easily accessible on different platforms as well as memory-friendly. Front-End used React, MUI, and Back-End used MongoDB, Express.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating back-end and front-end the fetch and get methods were confusing to work with.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to load the PWA onto our phones and access all of he front-end functionalities as intended. Perform the student user story successfully.

What we learned

Overall, we learned that project ideation is an important stage and collaboration is necessary to getting parts working altogether. We found that project idea had to be scalable for it to adapt to potential challenges such as technical problems and inefficiencies.

What's next for PeerTor

Additional features to expand the app for users of all ages and education.
