Inspiration
We want to retain the good memories that happen during a big event. Therefore, we wanted to work on something that will help with taking pictures, with ease. Not only that, we also want people to feel good about themselves. Therefore, after each picture is taken, they will also receive a personalized encouraging message to brighten their days.
What it does
Stream, take photo, and automatically upload it to a server. We also used twillio to send out text messages to the person taking the picture after as well.
How I built it
It was built using a webcam that is connected to an Arduino. We also wrote python script, and Flask + ngrok as well.
Challenges I ran into
We initially had a very broad idea, but in the end, we have decided to narrow it done to something that we all love aka hardware hack.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We pushed through all the problems that we ran into and ended up finishing our project at the end.
What I learned
-How to set up flask/ngrok and write python script.
What's next for PicMS
-Features such as facial recognition, personalized message on the photo itself (event name or logo), automatic scan and receive picture feature instead of having to text.
