Wanting to share your world with others
What it does
PicPal is a photo sharing app that allows users to receive photos from others in exchange for one of their own. PicPals operates on a reputation system that enables users who consistently share quality photos to be matched with other users of a similar reputation. The goal of PicPal is to encourage amateur photographers to share their photos with the community while also viewing fellow photographer’s pictures.
How we built it
The app was built with swift 3 for the front end with a Node.js (with Express.js) backend which was deployed on Heroku.
Challenges we ran into
Clarifai's node module did not work. We learned that the iOS keyboard requires you to program it for it to be dismissed. 30 hours may seem like a lot but we ran out of time to implement all the features that we wanted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having never developed a native iOS app before our team was able to finish the core functionalities of our app and even managed to have a user friendly interface.
What we learned
We learned how to make a fully working native iphone app in these 30 hours
