Inspiration

Many young adults struggle to manage their money well, leading to overdraft fees, debt, and ridiculous interest rates. When you get your first debit or credit card, it could feel like you're not spending money at all, and you just swipe away at every purchase without considering the consequences. What if there was a way to automatically tell when you're making bad financial decisions, and prevent them?

What it does

Our project is an app that uses machine learning to predict when the purchases you make are poor and have a high chance of leading to overspending or missing your budget, and suggests you alternative products to buy for lower prices. It also keeps track of how well you've been hitting your saving goals and provides it as data points for credit bureaus to make more informed decisions when deciding how much credit to give you and at what interest rate for when you start using credit cards.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Lack of time and sleep. Also coming up with an idea that doesn't already exist.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Came up with an interesting idea, created a polished professional presentation, and a design of the app.
