Inspiration
Current "virtual" medical technologies, such as Point N Click, are not user-friendly. Most importantly, it is not accessible to students who are living with invisible disabilities, such as color blindness, ADHD, cognitive impairment, etc.
What it does
Our product, Project mentality, offers 24-hour access to student mental health services, such as booking appointments with providers, completing pre-visit check-ins, filing personal information to the student counseling center, exchanging messages with providers, and most importantly tracking their progress and accessing data visualization.
How we built it
Figma prototype
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out if we wanted to create a web app/mobile app or a presentation based on a concept. Whether we wanna build the app through code or just create a prototype and focus on the values and user experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We went out of our way to make this application Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust for people living with invisible disabilities. We are not building just a healthcare application that’s based on capitalism, we are creating a standard for the college community that chooses to witness the existence of an invisible disability, and celebrate a higher level of understanding of accessibility.
What we learned
There are a lot of things to be wary of especially when trying to create something that is meant to be used by all (including people with disabilities like color blindness).
What's next for Project Mentality
Improve Figma prototypes and create a prototype app that works with all the functions the Figma demo has. Implement the codebase and data structure to make it usable.
