๐ŸŒŸ Inspiration

The inspiration for PS.AI came from observing the administrative burden that many psychiatrists face when managing patient intake protocols and questionnaires. We wanted to streamline the process to help clinicians focus more on patient care and less on paperwork. By creating an AI-powered solution, we aim to optimize the efficiency of front-office operations and provide better oversight for clinicians, ensuring that their time and expertise are used where they matter most. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ญ

๐Ÿš€ What it does

PS.AI is an AI-driven tool that assists psychiatrists in administering clinical protocols and patient questionnaires more efficiently and interactively. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿค– It automates the delivery and collection of these assessments, integrates them seamlessly into patient records, and provides real-time insights for clinicians. The platform supports better oversight and decision-making by making data more accessible and organized. ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿฉบ

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How we built it

We built PS.AI using a robust tech stack centered around MongoDBโ€™s Vector DB and Vector Search capabilities, which allow for scalable and efficient data handling. We leveraged OpenAIโ€™s LLM for natural language processing and embeddings to enable intelligent interactions and context-aware responses. ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ” Additionally, we integrated the PhenX database to ensure the availability of common and validated psychiatric protocols and questionnaires. This combination allowed us to create an interactive and comprehensive tool that meets the needs of mental health professionals. ๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐Ÿ”ง

โš ๏ธ Challenges we ran into

One of the primary challenges was ensuring the AIโ€™s responses were contextually relevant and precise enough to maintain clinical standards. ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿง  Integrating multiple data sources, including the PhenX database, and optimizing the use of embeddings for accurate protocol representation also posed initial hurdles. ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Ensuring data security and patient confidentiality while maintaining the performance of the system was another key consideration that required careful planning and execution. ๐Ÿ”’๐Ÿ”ง

๐Ÿ† Accomplishments that weโ€™re proud of

We are proud of creating a tool that not only improves the efficiency of clinical operations but also contributes to enhanced patient care. ๐Ÿคโœจ The seamless integration of MongoDBโ€™s Vector DB and OpenAIโ€™s LLM allowed us to achieve a highly interactive platform that effectively handles complex queries. Successfully incorporating the PhenX database and making it easy for clinicians to access standardized protocols was a major milestone that greatly enhanced the toolโ€™s utility. ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿ“š What we learned

Building PS.AI taught us the importance of aligning technology with real-world clinical workflows. ๐Ÿ“ˆ We gained deeper insights into how Vector DB and embeddings can be leveraged to improve the performance of AI-driven applications. Additionally, we learned the importance of user feedback during the development phase to ensure that the tool meets practical needs and simplifies daily tasks for mental health professionals. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”

๐Ÿ”ฎ Whatโ€™s next for PS.AI

Next, we plan to expand PS.AIโ€™s capabilities by incorporating more advanced analytics and reporting features to offer deeper insights into patient outcomes. ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ“ˆ We aim to develop integrations with electronic health record (EHR) systems to further streamline data flow. Enhancements in natural language processing for more nuanced patient interactions and expanding the database of clinical protocols to include specialized assessments are also on the roadmap. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿง  Ultimately, we want PS.AI to be the go-to tool for all administrative and data-driven aspects of psychiatric practice. ๐Ÿ›ค๏ธโœจ
