💡Inspiration💡

In India, a large percentage of women can not afford menstrual products. On top of that many people do not know the basics of menstrual hygiene, and menstrual health and some even do not understand what menstruation is.
I focused on developing a feasible solution for menstrual pads problems and education on menstruation throughout the brainstorming process. On RePad You can donate cotton to NGOs to make reusable pads and you can also get the latest news, facts, and discoveries on menstruation. The more you donate the more you become a Superhero, not just for underprivileged women but for the environment as well. This application was inspired by women worldwide who were unable to access optimal hygienic conditions during their periods.

❓What it does❓

The application is built on two key components:

User panel : where users can contact the NGOs for donations.
News panel: where users can learn about menstruation, menstruation health, and upcoming government schemes.

🏗️How I built it🏗️

For the front end, I used HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Bootstrap I utilized Flask for the backend and SQLite for CRUD.

🚧Challenges I ran into🚧

Brainstorming: Since it is my second hackathon, It took me a long time to develop a website that had a real societal influence.
Working with bootstrap Cards, which I was unfamiliar with, working with databases, managing our scope such that I delivered a genuine product, even if it was a bit bare bones CSS and website design.
Utilizing the backend, I got it all to work in the end.

✅Accomplishments that I am proud of✅

I am delighted to put together a solution to aid NGOs and donor communication and at the same time provide valuable information. I think that our application will help NGOs, donors, and women. I am grateful that I managed my time to complete my task swiftly and on time.

🙋‍♂️What I learned🙋‍♂️

This weekend taught me a lot. I discovered —

If you put your mind to it you will be able to achieve it since I was unable to find a team and had to do all the work on my own and being a beginner did not help either.
Use Flask to create fast, scalable, and simple web apps.
How utilizing Flask allows us to construct backends more quickly.
Finally, I learned a lot from hero-hacks 2 during the weekend.

💭What's next for RePad💭

I aim to develop this platform and collaborate with NGOs so that they can add themselves and make it a genuine free product that benefits everyone and introduces new features and other enhancements.
