Inspiration
The inspiration for Sabr ignited by the increasing prices of food. With food security becoming more prevalent in our society, we were determined to create an application that would help tie together local restaurants as well as the communities local to them in a way that corporate food delivery apps cannot. Through ensuring that both restaurants and customers get paid fairly and lowering the reliance on eternal sources, we are able to minimize costs for both consumers and businesses.
What it does
Sabr is a platform where businesses are able to offer discounted S-Dollars which would be used to pay for meals or products from their stores.
How we built it
This application was built using react-native, this is so that this app would be easily cross compatible between iOS and Android devices. We developed for iOS, but if we decided to expand the scope of this project, it would not be an arduous task.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were figuring out how to set up the environment for one of the laptops, as it seemed to have some issues. Moreover, not everyone on the team was familiar with React-Native, and as such, required us to learn on the fly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Something that we are proud of is that we have a relatively visual front-end that reflects what our intentions with the app are.
What we learned
We learned how to use React-Native as well as developing with an iOS simulator
What's next for sabr
We will polish the application and make it work fluidly
