Inspiration

STEM education is very important for children as it instils problem-solving skills and creativity in them. But unfortunately, only 20% of the students pursue careers in STEM. Half of the adults say that children don't take STEM because it is too hard for them. I truly believe that every student has the potential to pursue STEM and make a career in it. What most students lack is guidance. Last year, I got involved in a community that promotes open source. Being in that community, I learned about so many new technologies and collaborated with them on different projects. This motivated me to create a technical forum where people can have detailed discussions on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They can also connect with like-minded fellows and get guided by mentors. The intention of this project is to make STEM education as inclusive as possible.

What it does

STEM For All is a technical forum, where students can have detailed discussion on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They can connect with other like minded fellows and mentors. Anyone from anywhere can become part of this forum. All you need is an internet connection and a zeal to learn.

How we built it

It was built using Velo by Wix.

Challenges we ran into

Since I made this project as a solo member, I thought I wouldn't be able to complete it in time, but with some coffee and a lot of determination, I was able to complete it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing the project on time. Learning about Velo by Wix. Setting up the site and seeing it up and running.

What we learned

I learned about Velo by Wix. I also experienced it today myself: 'if you put your determination and hard work towards your goal, you will achieve it.' I completed my project : )
