Inspiration

In less developed parts of the world, medical care is less accessible. Due to the lack of education and access to resources, treatments for conditions may be delayed. Therefore, our group came up with an accessible solution to this problem that provides those without clinics or doctors a supportive level of healthcare, contributing to a more equitable and equal world.

The product my team has created is an AI chatbot that allows the user to upload images and input text describing their symptoms, giving feedback on possible conditions and recommended medications.

The pictures can be taken in any context, ranging from medical screenings to phone-taken pictures. The conversation flow allows the user to engage in organic conversations with the chatbot.

The chatbot is intended to be implemented in a web app, allowing the user to access it wherever they go, on the interface of their choice. Originally we wanted to run the code using Google Cloud’s server, but due to technical difficulties, the vision was not able to come into place.

Challenges we ran into

Technical Hurdles: Overcoming technical challenges, such as integrating complex frameworks and libraries, resolving compatibility issues, and debugging code errors, required significant time and effort.
Time Constraints: Meeting project deadlines while balancing other commitments presented a challenge, leading to tight schedules and occasional time management issues.
Communication Barriers: Communicating effectively within the team and coordinating tasks proved challenging at times, particularly when working remotely or across different time zones.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successful Implementation: Despite the challenges encountered, we successfully implemented key features and functionalities, demonstrating our ability to overcome obstacles and deliver results.
Innovative Solutions: Developing innovative solutions to address project requirements and meet user needs showcased our creativity and problem-solving skills.
Team Collaboration: Collaborating effectively as a team, leveraging each member's strengths, and supporting one another throughout the project contributed to our success and sense of achievement.

What we learned

Project Management: Managing project timelines, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating team activities provided valuable insights into project management best practices and strategies.
Communication and Collaboration: Improving communication channels, fostering open dialogue, and establishing effective collaboration methods helped enhance team dynamics and productivity.
Problem-Solving: Confronting and resolving technical challenges, adapting to changing requirements, and finding creative solutions taught us valuable problem-solving skills applicable in future projects.
