Inspiration
Despite most things in school becoming virtual, agenda books continued to be a paper product distributed at school. We wanted to create a digital equivalent of the planners that students use to improve student time management.
What it does
Virtual planner helps students manage their goals, homework assignments, and after school activities in an easy-to-use SaaS product.
How we built it
We used ReactJS for the front-end and Django Rest Framework (Python) for the back-end.
Challenges we ran into
It was our first time using Django so it took a while to understand how it worked and how to connect the backend to the frontend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of building a full-stack SaaS product in less than 24 hours.
What we learned
We learned how to build a REST API and how to run a Django web server, as well as creating endpoints for the frontend.
What's next for Virtual Planner
We plan to give students the ability to import their Google Classroom assignments using the Google Classroom API in the near future.
