Inspiration
I was inspired to build this because I’m a developer, and I often noticed that a lot of my time was spent on things not directly related to coding — like organizing my day, managing tasks, and jumping between meetings. These distractions made it hard to stay focused and productive. I wanted to build something that could support better planning and help avoid burnout.
What it does
Wellbi is an AI-powered assistant built on Salesforce that helps employees manage their time and well-being. It provides smart planning support, helps reduce task overload, and encourages healthier work habits, all through a conversational interface.
How we built it
I started by exploring Salesforce tools, using Flows to retrieve task and calendar data. From there, I moved into Apex development to build custom logic for smart planning and well-being features. These protocols allowed Wellbi to analyze tasks, suggest improvements, and provide personalized recommendations based on work patterns.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was working with Apex, especially when it came to debugging logs and figuring out how to properly manage permissions and user roles. Since I was new to Salesforce, it took time to understand how the platform handles access control and system behavior. Debugging and testing also required patience and careful review of logs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m proud of how much I was able to learn and build in a short time, especially starting as a beginner with Salesforce. Moving from basic flows to advanced Apex logic helped me create a more complete and useful assistant. The project also helped me improve my understanding of user needs around productivity and well-being.
What we learned
This project helped me discover the flexibility and potential of Salesforce tools. I learned how to use flows, write Apex classes, handle system logs, and manage access permissions. It also gave me more insight into how to design user-centered solutions that go beyond task automation.
What's next for Wellbi
The next steps for Wellbi are to add more intelligence and robustness to the assistant. This includes:
- Analyzing activity logs from previous weeks to suggest smarter planning strategies
- Identifying the best time windows for each user to work based on focus and calendar patterns
- Expanding wellness protocols to provide proactive support when signs of overload appear
- Improving conversational capabilities for a more natural user experience
- Including a stronger security layer to better manage sensitive data, enforce role-based access, and ensure compliance within enterprise environments
These improvements aim to make Wellbi even more helpful, secure, and reliable for supporting productivity and well-being at work.
