People often associate being emotional with being weak/vulnerable. We want to remove the stigma around possessing feelings, and especially acknowledging/reflecting on them amongst women. As we are women ourselves, we empathise with this prevalent societal imposed stereotype and created this app/mockup in an effort to remove it.
Today we will be presenting our app called WiEMood. WiEMood is a mood tracker app that keeps a log of the user’s emotions. It encompasses several pages that each serve a unique purpose. The login page prompts the user to log in or create an account. The profile page is where the user creates their profile by selecting an animal icon as their display picture and chooses a name. The main page prompts the user to select the emotion that they are currently feeling by clicking on one of the emotion icons. The calendar page shows a visual summary of the user’s emotions throughout the month. The camera feature will allow the user to document their emotions by taking daily photos.
The app will function as a personal tracker app as well as a social media platform for users to share their daily photos with their friends.
Our goal for WiEMood is to provide an outlet for women to express their emotions and connect with others that are going through the same struggles that they are. In addition, we hope that our app will bring value to the public as it provides insights and statistical analysis on women’s emotions.
