Gender pay gap continues to stand In 2022, women earned an average of 82% of what men earned, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of median hourly earnings of both full- and part-time workers. Other than the pay statistics, it’s important to address insufficient fairness and DEI in the workplace, which might be a contributor About six-in-ten (61%) say their company or organization has policies that ensure fairness in hiring, pay or promotions, and 52% say they have trainings or meetings on DEI at work. Smaller shares say their workplace has a staff member who promotes DEI (33%), that their workplace offers salary transparency (30%), and that it has affinity groups or employee resource groups based on a shared identity (26%). What it does
- Authenticates users using Auth0
- Allows users to voice their accounts of discrimination or toxicity they face in their specific company branch
- Allows users to view petitions initiated by others and sign them
- Displays the user profile with their details as well as the number of their signed and created petitions
How we built it
- Frontend: React.js, Next.js, Material UI, TailwindCSS
- Backend: Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB (Atlas)

- Connecting and integrating front end and back end
- Catching nuances in the given language / framework in the tech stack before they became bugs

What's next for WorkVoice
- Add a commenting feature for the petition, so users can leave their individual experiences
- Implement a search option to allow users to find petitions specific to their company or to a particular topic
- Allow users to add tags pertaining to their matter of concern, which can then be used for filtering through different categories of toxicity one may face at the workplace
