Inspiration

Slack is a productivity tool used everyday by startups and tech companies. Slack is a fun messaging tool and I wanted to see if I could replicate the core messaging functionality of slack.

What it does

Currently it allows users to register for an account, log in, message members who are on the app, and create channels.

How I built it

Using the typical iOS development tools.

Challenges I ran into

I ran into some challenges on the backend and configuring the sockets properly.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The app works properly and during the testing phase, testers were able to have a pretty smooth experience.

What I learned

Sockets are a really fun tool for instant communication, especially in messaging applications.

What's next for Yak

Push notification enabling, changing the profile avatar, and creating private channels.
