Inspiration

Whenever tourists land in a new country, and take a taxi to their hotel, they usually get a business-card from the driver - who wants them to contact him directly (and bypass the taxi-station commission).

These cards do not have enough room for all kind of chat apps that tourists might use.

We also want to encourage Taxi drivers to accept lightning for payments/tips - since tourists don't always have the local currency in the first/last days of their trip.

What it does

The ZapTaxi website will help Taxi drivers set up a profile page with all their communication details + allow taxi riders to communicate with the taxi driver directly through the page (over nostr).

The profile page information will be saved as a new Nostr profile (kind-0, with the details in the bio), and taxi drivers could edit it via any Nostr app.

The taxi driver will be encouraged to set up a lightning-wallet and paste their lightning-address. Riders could then pay the lightning-address via their favorite lightning wallet.

The chat will also allow sharing location, and if the riders want to commit the fact that they're waiting at a certain location, they could open-timestamp their location (and pay the price as "Proof of Wasting Money").
