Ok, sketched and inked this comic within 24 hours. I don't ever want to look at this comic again. Will post the sketch and thumbnail process later since I didn't have time to do so while making it.

Comics, Graphic Novels, and Books - Oh My!

I've been having bad drawing days. Not very fun.
But oh wells. Gotta push self to work.
In Digital Illustration class I'll be making a picture book of some sort... maybe with the monsters I made in Concept Art last term.. just make short stories on each monster to illustrate.
In Comics and Picture Books class... still not completely sure on what to do for it... but I still do rather like the Computer World comic idea I talked about last blog. Probably best if I don't dwell on thinking of what to do and just do it.
In Digital Printing class we have to do a graphic novel...yay. But luckily it doesn't have to be a complete one. I decided to do a TMNT Oz story. Yeah, I know I should probably do something original, but I find this idea fun to mess around with. I'll already be doing two original things anyways.
Anywhoooo, I was struggling to just draw the turtles. I don't usually have such a hard time drawing them, but this weekend was just a struggle to get myself to draw anything. Not gooooood. Hopefully this struggle will go away soon.

Computer World

While organizing some of my papers and things I had brought down here to this school I found this sketch I had done last year with a rough idea written next to it that said:
A virus fighter who is new to his job meets a renegade glitch code in which trouble ensues when the glitch releases releases a terrible virus from the vault which then attacks and kills many even the new virus fighter. Or so everyone thought he was killed, still alive, he now struggle with an infection from the virus that spreads slowly changing him.
If I remember right, I made these characters to live inside the world of computers.. or at least inside one persons computer. This idea most likely popped up when I was busy coding web pages for Web Development class and coding my final project platform game in... I don't remember what that computer class was called but it dealt a lot in using Flash.
Anyways, I still find this idea rather interesting so maybe I'll do this in Comics class.

Some Useful Resource Sites

Found some interesting sites a few days ago that could be helpful for some people. Here they are:
Kobateck : A blog with many many photo's of old places and things, from broken up towns, old factories, rusty buildings, ruins, ect. It's in Japanese so some may find it a little difficult to navigate through. Even if you're not looking for references for such places
it's still an interesting site to look through and see what places there are.Blueprints : Just as the name implies, it's a website of blueprint drawings of many many objects and things. From vehicles to WWII weapons and tanks to even every day objects like phones and coffee machines. Very useful for those who want to get an overall view of what certain things look like.
Japanese Costume History : I've always tried looking for and finding visual references to the different
clothing of other cultures, and this is a good one I've found on Japanese clothing through history.

Customizing Blog

Decided to mess around and customize my blog a bit for once. So I grabbed an image I made to practice traditional art on the weekend.
Used india ink, watercolors, chalk pastels, inktense, and a white gel pen.
I'd like to practice more with traditional art, I use digital art way too much. Which I'm fine with, but I'd like to have some ok skills in traditional art too.
