About the Event
Ignition Hacks is back once again for our 5th annual 36-hour hackathon, during August 16-18! Participants this year will be able to compete from a large prize pool, participate in workshops and create innovative projects within their team. We are so excited to see your creative ideas become a reality ⚙️
Founded in 2020, our goal is to support youth and provide an accessible and open environment for learning about business and technology.

What to build
There is no specific theme or challenge you must follow, build anything as long as it addresses and provides a solution to a real-life problem. However, there are designated prize tracks with themes and technologies you must follow in order to qualify for those prizes.
Teams
Teams must be in groups of 1-4.
Project pitch / demo
Please provide a 3 minute MAX pitch + demo as a Youtube link. Ensure that the Youtube link is either public or enlisted for the judges.
Hacker Requirements
- Hackers must be enrolled in middle school, secondary school, or postsecondary school
- Cross submission is strictly prohibited

First Place Overall
Each member of the winning team will receive:

Second Place Overall
Each member of the winning team will receive:

Third Place Overall
Each member of the winning team will receive:

Best Solo Hack
Eligibility: There must only be one team member to qualify for this prize track.
Each member of the winning team will receive:

Best Beginner Hack
Eligibility: In order to qualify for this prize track, the majority of your team must be first-time hackers. (ie. at least 1/1, 2/2, 2/3, 3/4)
Each member of the winning team will receive:
- Interview Buddy Gen AI mock interviews with unlimited practice
- $20 Amazon gift cards
Best Female Hack
Eligibility: In order to qualify for this prize track, the majority of your team must identify as female or non-binary individuals. (ie. at least 1/1, 2/2, 2/3, 3/4)
Each member of the winning team will receive:

Best Education Hack
Ignition Hacks is committed to making education (surrounding business + tech) more accessible for students! Create a project that makes education more accessible in some sort of manner.

Wolfram Award for Best Use of API
Each member of the winning team will receive:
- 4 x Wolfram|One: Valued at 25$
