Happy Groundhog Day!

Well Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, so here are a few funnies to warm up the day!

Fortunately, here in Texas we have Bu-cee the Beaver and it doesn't matter whether he sees his shadow or not.  We'll be enjoying our Beaver Nuggets* in 70 degree weather!

3 Days Into Snow/Ice-pocalypse

Well, we've made it this far and actually saw some sun today. About 2-3" of ice and snow on the ground and temps staying in the teens during the day and single digits at night. We haven't lost power or had any pipes freeze. Church was cancelled today, which surprised no one, but we wouldn't have tried to get out anyway. It's a 40 minute drive for us on a good day! Schools are cancelled for tomorrow, but Tuesday will see our high temps get up into the 40's. Guess we'll get back to business as usual then.  I'm happy to sit and enjoy a little more "hibernation" until then! A few more winter weather funnies:

A Change Is Coming!

As is often the case in Texas, winter weather doesn't really get going until mid to late January. Looks like we are in for some snow, ice and arctic temperatures here over the weekend. My husband asked if we needed anything before the bad weather hits and I assured him we had plenty of bread, milk and toilet paper!  Lol!

It sounds strange, but I am kind of looking forward to hunkering down for a few days-provided we don't have frozen pipes or power outages! Our temps are supposed to get down in the single digits for Saturday and Sunday. It will warm back up next week, which is what I like about bad winter weather where we live. It doesn't last long!

One Day At a Time

I've never been one to choose a word every New Year, but I think it's a good idea. This new year, I've decided that I need to work on the worry and anxiety about the things going on in my life and the world in general.  I've decided to choose a couple of scriptures as a goal for myself instead of a word. I need reminding to rest in the Lord more and trust Him more and worry less about the future.
