Lava is a climate-tech startup turning breakthrough isothermal heat-engine and heat-pump R&D into real-world megawatts. Our systems pair record thermal efficiency with factory-ready manufacturability, unlocking clean power where it matters most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and test alloys for high thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance.
  • Develop novel knitted geometries and coatings.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to balance performance and manufacturability.
  • Conduct microstructural analysis, fatigue, and corrosion testing.
  • Work with suppliers to qualify raw materials.
  • Document and analyze test results to guide design.

Key Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 7+ years in advanced materials R&D (heat exchangers, aerospace, or energy).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
