Requirements
Snapchat Games Track
Turn-based games on Snapchat let friends take turns making moves and send the evolving game back and forth via Snaps — making them perfect for strategy, creative or cooperative building, or mini-arcade experiences. Your challenge is to design a game that is snackable, replayable, and native to Snapchat’s playful social style. Think about how you can make players excited to send “one more round” to their friends.
What to Build
Build a turn-based multiplayer Lens game in Lens Studio that for example showcases one of the following:
- A fun and creative way of showing turn ownership, beyond just text prompts (e.g., Bitmoji, AR props, scene animations). Consider adding turn history or replay elements that let users see what their friend did last turn, making it feel like a real back-and-forth conversation.
- A design that feels snackable and replayable, encouraging friends to keep sending Snaps back and forth.
- Gameplay that fits Snap-native genres (e.g., wordplay, trivia, puzzles, mini sports, creative building).
- Visual and social polish, making use of Snapchat features like Bitmoji to enhance engagement.
What to Submit
- URL to your presentation slides (Use this template)
- Demo Video
- Description explaining the features and functionality
- Lens ID
See rules for more details of the above submission requirements.
Spectacles Track
We’re launching Snap Cloud powered by Supabase, a powerful new backend service that gives your Spectacles Lenses superpowers. For the first time, you can build Lenses that remotely store assets for increased file size capacity, connect with users in real-time, and can quickly query powerful postgreSQL databases.
What to Build
Build a groundbreaking Spectacles Lens using one or more of these new capabilities:
- Database & Storage: Create and query advanced user tables or offload heavy assets to the cloud.
- Realtime Subscription: Build shared, multiplayer experiences that happen live.
- Edge Functions: Make your Lens smart by connecting it to the internet or running complex logic.
