Shopping Centre Website

No one knows her, yet Burwood Heights Shopping Centre has been serving the community since 1983! Housing a Woolworths, many independent grocers and Kebab Yeah! and Amalfi Pizza and Pasta, this kind of neglected shopping centre lies along Burwood Highway. The only time you might actually notice it is when you're riding the tram and suddenly notice a Woolworths seemingly in the middle of nowhere. You can get here on the 75 (towards Vermont South) or on the 732/735!

Burwood Brickworks, lays behind the massive RSPCA building alongside Middleborough Road. It houses a multiplex cinema, multiple amazing eats, many nice high street produce shops and a massive Woolworths. It's surrounded by housing and just is an amazing place to hangout with your friends!

The "One" and only Burwood One. Lying on the corners of Blackburn Road and Burwood Hwy, this shopping centre may be your first stop after you come to live here at Res. Serviced by 2 bus routes (732 and 735) and 1 tram line (Route 75 Vermont South to Central Pier Docklands), this lowly shopping centre boasts amazing eats and daily essentials as well as an extensive fresh produce shop and butcher market! Burwood One reigns supreme as it houses a 24 hour Kmart and Coles!! Parking...however...is a nightmare.

Chadstone Shopping Centre, the biggest shopping centre* (*allegedly) in the Southern Hemisphere and the largest shopping centre in Australia by floor area is home to amazing restaurants, daily essentials and high street shopping as well as being a centre for job opportunities. It boasts a massive bus interchange with 14 bus routes serving the Eastern and South Eastern parts of Melbourne. Chadstone, open since the 60s, has been home to many brands ranging from Just Jeans to Gucci and is an icon on the map of Melbourne!

Good Ole' Box Hill Central; This is the biggest shopping centre that's under 20 minutes by bus. Box Hill boasts a variety of shops and amazing food. It's a cultural hub in the east and is well connected by all forms of public transport. It houses a massive bus interchange, tram terminus (109 to Port Melbourne via Collins Street) and train station (Lilydale and Belgrave lines). If you do end up walking the streets of Box Hill around the shopping centre, you'll find inviting restaurants with mouth-watering food. We ❤️ Box Hill.

Nearest IKEA is in Richmond which is about 15-25 minutes by drive or you can take public transport (Tram Route 109 to Port Melbourne from Box Hill). Apart from their meatballs, they have pretty decent quality staples and cheap small furniture.

Yes, taking public transport is confusing at best and scary at worst but fret not you've got access to the PTV help page which should solve all of your queries.

Closest Aldi is in Box Hill South, 3128 which is around 5-6 minutes away by drive or you can take public transport there as well (Bus no. 903 to Altona, Essendon, Sunshine and Heidelberg).

the 75's cousin, the 70, also one of the oldest tram route in Melbourne, connects commuters to the Docklands area from the quiet Wattle Park shopping centre via Camberwell, Hawthorn, and the vibrant Swan St. precinct in Richmond as well as acting as a feeder directly to the Melbourne Park Precinct (amazing for concerts and other events). 

This tram shares some of it's route with the 75. It has numerous train and bus connections (767 and 903) along it's route. However, unlike the cousin this tram does not run 24 hours.

An AI Residential Leader!

Your best friend, the 75 is the longest and the oldest tram route in Melbourne. Run by Yarra Trams, this route is arguably the best way to get around with frequent service and decent capacity. It is part of the Night Network which means it receives almost 24 hour service during the weekends. It connects commuters to the city via the vibrant Bridge Road Entertainment Precinct in Richmond, Hawthorn, Camberwell and Burwood finally terminating at the quiet Vermont South Shopping Centre. 🚋

RLs: Probably your first point of contact, Residential Leaders are student volunteers who are your first point of contact for a range of stuff! They can escalate stuff to Campus Life.

Campus Life: This body consists of 4 members and can help with a bunch of issues that are either too serious or too big for the RLs to handle. Sometimes, you may even find it helpful to escalate issues to Campus Life directly! They may issue breaches (of license agreement) if they feel that it's appropriate.

Reception Officers/Night Coordinators: These lovely people stay at the reception and help with all of your queries about living here, payments, parcels etc. or if you just wanna have a lovely chat! Night coordinators act as campus life but during the night!

Closest Woolworths is in Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre which is around 5-6 minutes away by drive or you can take public transport there and walk a little to get there. (Tram Route 75 to Vermont South).

Burwood Brickworks also has a bunch of really nice eating spots and grocers!
