Los Altos Hacks is a student-run hackathon where high school students come together to build projects, learn new skills, and collaborate in a fun, creative environment.
Any high school student is eligible to participate in Los Altos Hacks. If you've already graduated, you cannot compete, but you're welcome to join as a mentor.
No. You don't need any coding experience to come to Los Altos Hacks. The event is beginner‑friendly, and there are workshops plus mentors to help you learn.
Bring a laptop, charger, and any personal items you need for a full day of coding and collaboration. Snacks and meals are usually provided.
You can work solo or in a team it's up to you! Teams are encouraged, and there are opportunities to meet other participants and form groups at the event.
Yes! All hackers must sign, and follow the MLH Code of Conduct.
