Silk Road Festival 2021

Here's the 3.5 hour long full moon set from the Moontribe Collective's October FMG. This full moon gathering had much intense energy behind it as we celebrated the existence and passings of our loved ones.

The opening singing bells track of this set was recorded from a vinyl, Tibetan Bells (1971) by Henry Wolff, Nancy Hennings, and Drew Gladstone, which was gifted to us by a close friend. This record was unopened for over fourty years (has been played only three times), and it felt very appropriate to play some of the bells from this record (recording) for the tribe. 

The intro track is a digitally recorded and mastered mix between two pieces on the record: 'Wrathful Deity' and 'Clear Light'.

Some dance to remember, some dance to forget.

During 2013's summer solstice full moon, thousands of dancers, artists, and family gathered to celebrate 20 years of magic with Southern California's beautiful Moontribe Collective. 

We are halfway to 2014's Solstice already -- so here's a something to spark those memories and reinvigorate this year's full moon hunger.

Moontribe 20-Year Anniversary

Here's some data sonification from the waveform of the seismograph reading of a Southern California 4.4 magnititude earthquake on 3/17/14. The raw data sonification is a half-second blip of white noise -- here's what we hear when we adjust some of the parameters of that noise.

This track is an edit of Beatfreaque's track "Snack Attack," to include a heartfelt message from Jon Bush (Beatfreaque) himself. This track was played as the last track of the evening during Jon's celebration of life. A few people asked me to upload this for others to have access to, and I'm happy to oblige.

BONUS:
Around the 59 minute mark the music goes silent for one second. This was due to cutting out a part of the mix that was absolutely destroyed due to some DJ booth interference that involved me slapping away the hands of some people enjoying themselves a bit too much. This one's for you, kid.

Synchronometry - April 2019 Full Moon Gathering

This mix was recorded at Moontribe’s 26 year anniversary gathering. This circumstances around this recording are rather unique, as during the days leading up to this event my dog of 10+ years passed away while on a road trip with myself, my wife and my daughter, as we were on our way to this event. The week leading up to this event was also my wife and I's first year wedding anniversary, father’s day, and also my birthday. This three hour set was originally intended as a birthday celebration, but on a personal level, this set was more of a eulogy to my dog Lilo. She was the really the best dog I could ever ask for, and our family will forever miss her. 

Adopt a dog. Save a life.

Synchronometry - Moontribe 26-ear Anniversary

I was honored to be given the last full moon set / sunrise set of the decade for our lovely full moon community in southern California. During this set, it was dark for about an hour and light for about an hour. I hope the recording conveys the transition from dark to light as well as it did on the dancefloor. Thank you everyone for nearly a decade of full moons. This was a really retrospective set for me, and I'm just really grateful for this life we live.
