LC: I just had to report on the new kitty tower The Big Thing is making. It has upright posts, flat steps, and curved resting places and they are all going to be covered with carpet. There is going to be a place to crawl up through (and side steps when we don't feel like crawling up), a tunnel to walk through and sit, an even some rope to claw at. The Big Thing says there will be some hangey-things to paw at, but those will go on last; he doesn't know just where yet until he sees where we like to sit.
He may even build another one all differnt if we like the first one. Then he can move them around and we can see the cave in differnt ways. He says he needs an "air-stapler" for the carpet, though an a really sharp knife. He grinded an old knife real curvey today (it made a terrible noise), so I guess he just needs the stapler-thingey.
We don't like all the noise, but he says it is for our tower an we want that a lot. So Skeeter will hide unner the bed and I will try to be outside or on the bed at least. I don't mind the noise like Skeeter does.
I sure hope he isn't making all the noise when we want to use the litter boxes. Or he might get a surprise in the sleeping room!

Tuna!
Skeeter: We gots some tuna each early light for 2 times! Not much each time, but we really love that stuff. LC says The Big Thing is trying to fatten me up to cook me. She's just making a funny. I hope.
The Big Thing is sketching out stuff for our new kitty tower. He realized he could make free-standing ones to fit against the wall and then he could move them around so we would have different looksies around. That's cool! An if there is a place we really like, he will attach it to the wall and make it bigger! He showed us some paper but we didn't understand that very well, so he pointed to the walls and held up boards and we liked some of them a lot. So he is going to use those ideas.
An the first one is going to go on the wall that other kitties liked the most, too (next to the green wall next to the humongous tall bookcase). He opened a big space in the basement of the cave to build it, today. He has flat boards and thick boards and carpet all over the place. We can't wait! Meanwhile, he opened up the "guest bedroom" for us to sleep in. We like that place. He put 2 sheets and pillow covers on the beds so our fur wouldn't get into the blankies there.
We had fun sniffing all through the room after it being closed to us for 2 big moons.

The Towers Prezzie
LC: Skeeter liked #3. I liked #1. But I wasn't noticing the access to the bookcase top (and the 2 colorful fishes on one of the shelves). So, I kinda like that one now, too. The Big Thing is thinking about it. He's been mutterring about needing more walls. Well, it's not OUR fault he covers all our walls with stuff, is it? There are lots of walls in the cave, so we deserve one of our own!
He isn't really happy about us getting to the top of the bookcase either (there are breakable things up there - which is why they are there). But #1 overhangs some stairs. He remembers that I rolled over in my sleep once and fell off the 10' high deck. Actually landing on the ground when I was younger wasn't too bad, but he is not sure I would do so well landing on stairs at 13. He may have a good point!
So he is agreeing with #3 (around the door near the bookcase). Yay! He says he will build part of it first (about his height) to see if we really like it. If we do, he will build the rest of it and figure out what to do about the breaky-things then.
He says it should take a half Moon cycle to figure it all out and make it. Good thing, too. It is getting all nasty and cold outside, and we don't like that. So we need some places to climb until it gets nice out again!

A Treat Becomes Food
LC: Big Brother doesn't realize it yet, but our dry crunchies are about to get upgraded. We have been getting a brand that I thought was just fine. I enjoy eating it even if Skeeter doesnt seem to much anymore.
But The Big Thing brought home a little packet from the Vet (of all places to find something good)! I don't care for any of the kitty-treats The Big Thing offers. But he opened this little packet and I came running as soon as I smelled it! He gave me one and I scarfed right down and asked for more.
I was actally embarrassed by how much I wanted it! I even mewled (hangs head in shame). He doles them out by ones and twos when I come inside when called. Well, I was sniffing around the cave today, and I discovered he has bought a whole real bag of the stuff. He is keeping it in a room we can't go in (for visitors only), but I can smell it under the door!
I think he is waiting for us to eat up the old regular stuff, so I'm eating up the old dry crunchies as fast as I can. Ive seen on other kitty-sites that there are presents being given around now, so I hope that new stuff is mine.
If I can get that new stuff as regular dry crunchies, I may even crawl up on his lap! (But I still want the kitty-towers he promised to build).

Wet Good Smelly Food
Skeeter: LC and I usually split a can of wet good smelly food each dinnertime. But we have been getting a 1/2 can most mornings lately. That pleased us greatly, but we didnt know why we were getting it. The Big Thing says he has been giving us some extra because I have been losing a little weight the past couple of years. He thinks the dry crunchies don't smell as good to me anymore.
Well, DUH! I've told him that many times. I'll eat some when I'm really hungry, but it's like eating a tofu-turkeybird. I'm always hungry these days. Why does he thing I talk to him while he is preparing his own good smelly food all the time? And go out and catch mice and grab the ones he catches in the cave? And beg for treats? "I'm hungry, stupid"!
It's a shame The Big Things don't have well-developed brains like I do.
Anyway, it seems he kept watching the dry crunchies disappear, and assumed I was getting all I wanted. Like I wanted stuff? So, I'm getting some extra canned stuff. I'm happy... I still want more of The Big Thing's food and more treats, though!

Kittie Towers Prezzie!
Skeeter & LC: The Big Thing says he is making us a serious good prezzie! We are getting a home-made kitty-tower! He hasn't decided where it will go, so the final design is in doubt. We disagree about where it should go, and how it should be arranged, but we both want to get up high!
So he has decided to let other kitties help decide on where it should be and how it should be arranged. We can only have one of them this year (but more next year). He is using pictures of the cave and drawing over them.
Please help us figure out what we would enjoy. We have no experience with these tower-thingies!

The upright black lines mean wood supports. Sideways lines mean angled platforms out from the walls or wide horizontal boards. Efreything is wide enough for even Skeeter to sleep on. And it will all be carpetted.
So, which would you like? We would probably like what other kitties like best.
Ooh, we can't wait! But let us know what we should ask for! We trust efryone.

Those Pictures!
Skeeter: I see LC and The Big Thing finally caught me asleep (I didn't think The Big Thing could be that quiet)! But I know LC arranged it. I'll get her for that. Some time when she is sleeping on her back, going crazy on kitty-crack, or liking her butt. Or something...
Well, it was a nice day outside and The Big Thing was out (and he left the hard clear thing a bit open so I could go back in the cave when I wanted). That was really good because I hate being trapped outside. We walked around the yard, and I alway like that, too. I feel safer outside in the light when he is there.
When he started cutting down dead plants an stuff, I went back up on the deck and watched from there. I didn't mind him tossing the plant parts out on the grass, but when he started moving the metal cages he keeps them trapped in, I didn't stick around. I mean, the plants might seem dead, but if he had to keep them in cages, they might still be dangerous! I dont take chances like that!
When he chopped them up good and dumped them all in another kind of cage, I felt better about it and came back down. We walked around a bit more, all the way the the very far part of the yard! But then, he started carrying the plant cages around and I didn't want him to drop any on ME, so I went back up on the deck.
I had a good nap there until LC came and pounced me. I gave her a real good swat because you're not supposed to pounce someone when they are all alseep. That's not fair! Even The Big Thing scolded her... I think she gets all excitable when she is outside too long, but that's still no excuse.

Weird Picture
LC : My BIG Brother (rollseyes)

Skeeter seems like he has too many feet here.
And he isn't sitting on me or any other cat. No toys around either!
Good widebody shot, though.
He almost has to be passed out to get a picture of him, sometimes. He hears a camera turn on and he runs unner the bed! He slept through these, though (heh-heh).

And talk about ORANGE! He just sheds orange all over the place. The carpet is actually blue, but he is true to color! And I don't mean fur. He sheds COLOR!
How does he DO that? I can't make the carpet change color AT ALL!
And how did he make that star in the middle? I wanna know!
(He's gonna hate these when he wakes up...)

Thursday 13 Things
Skeeter and LC:
Thirteen Fun Things To Play With
1. Real soft kitty-crack toys (well, duh)!
2. The Big Things feet under the blankies.
3. Real mousies!
4. Moths.
5. Froggies.
6. Toilet paper on the wall,
7. Balled up waxy paper,
8. Plastic shipping straps tied up in lots on knots and loops.
9. Walnuts and eggcorns and filberts in their shells.
10. Fuzzy pom-poms.
11. Fevvers on strings.
12. Ping-pong balls.
13. The Big Thing, anytime and all the time!
(Put to the tune of 'My Favorite Things'):
Soft furry fake mice all smelling of catnip;
Balled up wax papery things that we can nip:
Rolls of the papery things on the wall; these are our fav-o-rite toyses of all!
Fuzzy bright little things often called pom-poms;
Hard shiny bouncey white balls known as ping-pongs;
Walnuts and eggcorns that bounce off the walls; these are our favorite things of them all!
When the snow falls, to our tip-tops, we don't "out" at all.
We simply remember our favorite toys, and then we an-swer their call.
Fevvers on stringies and knotted up strapping;
Pouncing The Big Thingies toes while he's napping;
Mothies we trap by the clear thing with glee, these are the favorite toyses of we.
Out at the pond there are froggies for catching;
And there all always some twigs to be fetching;
Real mousies wandering kitchen and hall! These are the absolute best of them all!
When the dark comes, when it's "lights out", we don't feel a slight.
We simply remember our favorite toys, and then it is all, alright!

Warm Sleeping Spot
The Big Thing stayed awake until it was almost light out. Then he crawled into his sleepy place. When he woke up, we were both sleeping on top of him!
He is so warm and comfy.
When he got up, he gave us some wet smelly good stuff early (before dinnertime). And after, we got some kitty-crack! OOZIES!!! Even Skeeter played with the pretend mousies and he hardly ever does that. I pounced him a bunch a times and he pounced me back. That was a lot of fun.
And now I feel really hungry...

A Good Out
LC: The Big Thing spent a lot of the light outside. We like being out when he is. He does intresting stuff. Yesterday he made holes in the grassy area.
He used one a noisy drilly machine held on his paws, and we didn't like that too much and stayed many leaps away, but then he stopped. There were holes all over the grass! Skeeter and I sniffed almost all of them. Some of them connected to mousie holes.
The next light, he brought out a litterpan full of little plant-bulbs. They are called "cro-cus-es". He put one down in each hole, covered it with dirt, and patted the spots flat. I peed in one of the holes when he wasn't looking because it seemed like a good place.
But he told us there would be lots of flowery things when the warm time came. I don't get it, but it made him happy, so that is OK. As long as he is outside with us that is fine. We like walking around with him wherever he goes in our safe area inside The Wall.
Then he called us inside. We came cause we know that call. He was going to use a big noisy thing. He pulled leafs from all the corners of the yard and spread them out. Skeeter hides unner the bed when he hears those noisy things, but I am interested. He drove the thing over the leaves an they just dissappeared into powder.
When he was done powdering the leafs, he let me back outside. We had a nice time walking aroun the yard and I sniffed all the powdery leafs. They are good things to scrape over my litter.
After that, I went to the big pond an looked for froggies. There were lots, but they are are scared and stuff and I couldn't get near any.
The Big Thing was standing on the deck watching me for a while. He finally got cold so he went in. I went in, too. It was dinnertime. We had fishie-flavored stuff. I always like that.
Later, The Big Thing discovered I had some of those nasty sticky-seeds on my tail. He found every one while I was sitting on the otto-man and picked them out of my fur.
Purr!
Life is good

Later, The Big Thing discovered I had some of those nasty sticky-seeds on my tail. He found every one while I was sitting on the otto-man and picked them out of my fur.

LINKS!
Skeeter and LC: Max The Psychokitty was SO kind as to help us understand how links were made. So we got his added a few lights ago. Today we went and searched through all the comments we have received so far and added all those wonderful kitty-friends to the list.
We did it partly to recognize and thank all those who have commented on our little adventures, trials, and trib-u-la-shuns. Of course, we also did it so that was easier for US to remember the places of the other kitties we want to be sure to visit and read about them, too.
So, if we have made even the tiniest little mistake in the names, please let us know so we can get it right. We like our exact names so much, we don't want to get anyother kitty's wrong.

Snarky Squirrels!
Skeeter: Those evil tree-rats are at it again. One has started to enjoy eating his eggcorns right on our deck, even when we are there at the hard clear thing yelling at it to go away.

We chase them when we get a good suprise on them (which is very hard to do) but neither of us have caught one yet. LC tripped one up once and rolled over with it for a lick, but it got to a tree and ran right to the top of it!. I am so envious that she got to grab it (but I only remind her that she LOST it)! Heh-heh...
The deck squirrel sure left fast when The Big Thing clicked the latch to the hard clear thing to let us out at it.
The Big Thing just mentioned to me that The Winter Kitty once caught 5 squirrels in one day. Gee, thanks, that makes me feel SO good! He didn't have to remind me of that; The Winter Kitty told me about it enough times himself. I'll bet his squirrels were stupider than mine! He sure never caught one here.

Mousie Again!
Skeeter: Wow! The Big Thing cleaned the mousie traps and studied they way they worked. He changed the way he put that awful peanut butter stuff on it and set something a bit different about it. He caught another mousie in less than a short nap! He wasn't even back to the computer. We like the mousies, but he is upset.
It was LC's turn to have one, but she didn't handle it too well. I think she tried to eat it too fast cause I was following her. An she had just eaten a big dinner of wet smelly good stuff. The Big Thing says he is just going to have to toss the mousies outside an let us deal with them out there or toss them in the garbage and give us treats when we see them.
Treats seem OK, but I want to play with the mousies! I found the mousie she couldn't keep down and ate it myself. I didn't have a problem AT ALL. And the next one is mine too!

Sneaky Mousies
Skeeter: We haven't heard the lovely SNAP! for a light or dark or two. Apparently, the house mouses managed to lick all the peanut butter stuff of the mousie traps without setting them off. The Big Thing has soaked them in his tub of water (ick) to clean them and is examining them. He says he thinks there are a-just-ments to how twitchy the traps are and will pay attention to that. He thinks we are "down" to really small mousies.
But that means there are still some house mousies around! I'll take any size I can get. They are all small enough to me. I want a squirrel-mousie, but if I can't catch those big mouseies, I'll take what I can get. Small yum-yums are good, too. I think he doesn't know how many mousie-ousies we catch in the cave. That's why we have little bites on our chins some mornings. LOL!
It's worth it! I want more of them...

Cold!
LC: We wanted to get OUT 3 lights ago... The Big Thing wanted us to know what it was like outside, so he just opened the hard clear thing a little so we could sniff.
Skeeter is much more concerned about cold than I am. I know I'm going OUT anyway. He didn't like it AT ALL, and asked The Big Thing to go open all the other doors to see if it was better at any of those. He settled for going into the garage for a while. I went out.
By the time Skeeter was tired of the garage, I was ready to come IN. I mean, it was not only cold, but blowey too. Even the frogs and mousies were hiding.
But he wanted to consider going OUT and I wanted to come IN, so there we were, both on the wrong side of the clear hard thing as usual. The Big Thing opened it and I ran in. Then Skeeter ran out. Then Skeeter ran in again. We both stared out hoping it would get warmer. The Big Thing says we are "out of luck" for a few big moons. That's bad. Maybe I can find some of the missing "luck" around the cave. This seems to happen when the light goes away earlier, and neither of us like that any. I bet that white cold stuff starts to fall soon. Sometimes it piles up taller than I am.
But maybe if I can find that "luck" stuff, it will get warmer again!
Until then, we are both going to sit by the hard clear thing and stare outside wishing it was warm again. The Big Thing sometimes stares out there with us. I guess he misses it too. But he has all these extras furs he can put on when he wants, so I'm not sure why he cares. My paws get colder than anything, but he has things for his paws too. If I could put on extra fur and cover my paws, I'd go out all the time! I'd even try walking on the hard water that covers the froggie pond again.
I tried that once before an it was real bad. But more about that next time!

More Mousies!
Skeeter: The Big Thing caught another mousie with the peanut butter trap, and it was my turn to get it! LC grabbed it, but I just went over an took it away.

It's a little fuzzy cause I was shaking the mousie. It wasn't dead an it didn't want me to eat it. Isn't that what they're for?
I was worried I wouldn't get another house-mouse. The rule is that if we hear the snap and The Big Thing gets it right away, we can have it. If it is all dead and all dark old, we can't. But when that happens, he gives us some wet good stuff, so that's OK. LC and I heard the snap the dark before, but The Big Thing wouldn't get up even when we both ran in to the sleepy room and woke him up and told him there was a mousie caught. He was just too sleepy to understand us then. We might as well been talking to the mouse!
At least he checked the traps when he got up, so we got some treats when he threw it away. We think he should only have the traps set when he is there to hear it! But he doesn't seem to understand how important the mousies are to us...

Ha Ha, I got it first!
LC: SNAP! He jumped and I did too. The Big Thing caught a mousie! An for some reason, he doesn't like to eat them, so we get them when they are fresh-dead! I was closest. He caught it an tossed it on the floor. An I grabbed it an ran away with it. Skeeter followed me, but I wouldn't let him have any of it.
Skeeter was real upset and took it away from me, but the The Big Thing picked him up and promised him the next mousie. That seems fair. I don't get as many mousies as he does. Skeeter got scratched until he nearly passed out. So it balances. Next mousie, Skeeter has it and I get scratched. An I'll have to watch him play with it an eat it. But I'll get scratched all over and unner the chin, an I really like that! Good as a mousie. An The Big Thing will make sure I have no ticksies on me, too. I have had 2 of them since the last Big Moon, so it is a good thng he checks me all over.
But I want another mousie!

There WAS A Mousie!
Skeeter: The Big Thing staggerred up early yesterday, and saw I was sniffering arund the main chair we sit in. He just laughed. But I knew there was a mousie in there and I wanted it!
When I kept at it, The Big Thing got curious and lifted the bottom of the sheet he covers the chair with. No mousie. Then he lowered the top. No mousie. By then, I was disgusted and walked away.
Then he pulled the whole thing off (and scared me half out of a life). And there was the mousie! It was ahold of the middle of the front! The Big Thing thought that covering it for a second would cause it to stay there while he got my attention back.
He sure doesn't know the first thing about mousies! I knew it was gone the instant it was covered. But I gave it my best try anyway. I'll bet it is hiding inside the rockey-chair. I can smell it all over the chair! An I have to sit on his lap smelling that mousie smell all over.
He's not entirely stupid, though. Close, but without the necessary kitty characteristics. He brought out some traps and used peanut butter (awful stuff, but mousies like it). I think he is going to try to catch them in his own way.
He lifteded up the top of his cooking place and he found little mousie shits there. That made him really annoyed.
I tried to remind him before it was getting cold outside and mousies like warm places too, but he wasn't listening. Now he is listening... LOL!
He is going about catching mousies. An he sure is good at it. He gets them in places we can't reach. He uses these things that break their necks like we do, only more sudden and faster. For a Big Thing that is pretty stupid sometimes, he is really lethal! I have to remember that!
Well, he reached into the nasty place under the kitchen sink and brought out 4 things of wood and metal to catch mousies. They work; I've seen it. I don't how. The Big Thing gives us the mousies though, an we have fun with them. We usually eat them.
Bet a clean litterbox that we get a mousie or two by light!

Alone!
Skeeter: The Big Thing went away in early light yesterday and stayed away til way dark. I hope that doesn't mean he is back to that old stuff where he was gone all light! And he returned smelling of a strange kitty! He better not be getting ready to replace us or bring a stranger into the cave!
I didn't have a lap to sit on all light, an I don't like that. He is supposes to sit at least sometime while I get all warm and cozy-safe on him. That's his main purpose, right? Well, and food, and opening the clear hard thing, and litterbox-cleaning. He doesn't have anything else to do important!
The early light was bad enough. Some horrible noisy thing went off and The Big Thing practically leaped off the warm softy thing to try to kill it. He knocked me right off where I was sleeping on him! He slapped at it several times before it shut up. But then he didn't crawl back under the blankies like he should have.
He stayed up and even went under the water (as he does so often - crazy Big Things...). When I realized he was up for the light, I dragged myself into the part of the cave he was in. LC ghad been sleeping on the furry floor of the cave, but she came in too. WOW, he's opening dinner! Early! We gobbled it right up. I thought at first that we had missed the normal dark time dinner before and that was why he got up so suddenly, but I decided we had that. LC agreed. So we decided to stop thinking and just eat.
That's when he left the cave suddenly. He took food (we could smell it even over our food dishes), a few nasty crinkly-sounding bags (I hate those) and even a table and some things he sits on. Then he disappeared in the noisy smelly machine.
ALL LIGHT!
We just slept and wandered around the empty cave. Then it became the dark again, and he hadn't returned. I was getting worried. I mean, what if he sent himself to a human vet and *wasn't coming back*... LC went back to sleep on the warm softy thing, but I wasn't having any of that. I went to nap on the place where The Big Thing sits when he makes a lap. I know what is important to ME!
Well, of course he did come back. And we got a 2nd dinner! And then we got to go outside even though it was all dark. It was good, but it was cold and windy, so we didn't stay out long.
Then I got to sit on his lap. Finally! LC even sat next to us. He explained that he had gone a long way away to visit his own family. His litter-mates, if I understand right, but we didn't know he had any. He said he had a wonderful time, even though he missed us very much. And that there was a friendly kitty where he went that was very happy in its own place. That seemed strange to me. I mean, how could any kitty be happy not with The Big Thing in our cave! But we don't want any strange kitties here, so we let that pass.
He says he brought us a treat. Tommorow, we will get a big turkey bone to chew on an bat around! Kewl! I may even forgive him for the strange kitty smells he brought back...

Bad Words
LC: Ooh, we realized last dark (Skeeter and I talking between ourselfs and reading the comments to our posts) that we may have gotten "bad" Big Thing words mistaken. We think that "bad words" are anything the Big Thing says REALLY LOUD! "LOUD" seems bad to us. When he says things LOUD, that is "bad words" because it upsets us.
For example, if we hear our names said REALLY LOUD by The Big Thing, that is a "bad word"...

Floodie, Part 2
Skeeter: We're still upset about all the water in our cave. The Big Thing sucked up all that he could, but it still doesn't smell right down around our litterboxes. Even The Bg Thing isn't happy about the smells. An he is kittenly lame about that.
So he has a lot of work to do befor we are happy around the litterboxes. We have been demandeding to "go" out a lot the past two lights and even darks. He is scraping and shoving a hard brushy thing around, but it isn't good enough yet.
If he doesn't get it all OK again real soon, he may find a surprise in his foot-covers! But we are doing the best we can. LC peed down the hole in the "shower" and I get as close to the driest litterbox I can when I don't want to go outside (it is cold and windy).
The Big Thing is unhappy about this, too. He says he may have to dis-ass-emble things (a work-bench and panels?) to get everything all clean again. He was so unhappy last night (even after eating meat!), I stuck my head up under his chin and LC (almost) came onto his lap.
Maybe I wouldn't even mind too much if he started that awful blowy thing going again. It does make the wet go away...

The Floodie
Skeeter: An you wouldn't believe all the stuff that the water dragged down to our yard! There are branches and more branches. Big wood things. Leaves that could cover me! The water was way deeper than I am tall. The Big Thing went out in the horriblest of it and tried to make the water go away, but he couldn't. An he was shivering real bad.
When he came back inthe cave, he squeezed and shook water off himself for the longest time. Then he took off his furs ans squeezed more water out of them. It was terrible. I don't know how he could stand it at all!
But then he put on dry fur, and laughed and called us to him for some treats. We liked that, and it made us feel better about all that water. I climbed up on his lap and helped him fall asleep. LC stayed nearby to protect him. When I had to go use the one dry litterbox, LC sat closer to him. He doesn't know that, though. I was back on his lap when he waked. He is so quiet and warm whem he sleeps...

Ooh, Picturie-Things
LC: The Big Thing took pictures of our floodie.

It was worse at one time, but the rain was falling so hard The Big Thing couldn't even take his picture thingy outside. It was pounding on him like he couldn't stand!
He worked and worked to get the nasty water out of our cave. He got most of it out, but he used a wind thing to make most of it go back into the air:

But it was really bad before he did that:

We couldn't get near the litterboxes at all!

Water, Water, Effrey Where!
Skeeter: It rained so hard the past (one... two...) yes, "two" lights! The ground was all soaky-wet already, so I guess the rain had no where to go. It decided to come into the bottom of our cave!
That has happened before, slightly, but it never caused us any problems. But this time, it surrounded our litterboxes. :(
The Big Thing didn't suspect a problem. When the little leaks caused a problem before (he says), the rain came over the roof gutters and we could see it pouring down. But that didn't happen this time. Well, The Big Thing had gone up and cleaned the gutter-things all out (piles of good wet smelly leaves). So when he went into the basement to clean out our litterboxes, he was very surprised to find water effrey where!
We hadn't been able to get to the litterboxes and we had to do the closest we could. LC and me didn't like that, but is a kitty supposed to walk in water to get at them? No sirree!
Well, he did the best he could, too. He walked into the water and got the cleanest litterbox onto a dry place we could reach and started up chasing all the water away. Some of it, he used a special wet sucky thing on. He said a lot of words we almost NEVER hear from him, too...
I tried to help by pushing on some of the wet kitty litter that had been pushed out, but that got stuck in my paws. He brought me upstairs to the dry area and cleaned them (saying more of those bad words). Then he gave me some treats and told me to stay upstairs.
LC and I listened to the sucky thing going on for a whole naptime. The Big Thing really was unhappy. Apparently, he has to fight with the wet sucky thing to get it to do what it should! Maybe he should feed it more often so it wouldn't be angry and fighty.
Our whole front yard (where we don't go but can see through hard clear things) was a big lake. Even the hard flat place where Big Things drive their noisy things was covered deeper than I am tall! Maybe that's why he doesn't make/let us go out there! It seemed really wet and dangerous.
Today at first light, The Big Thing went down and looked for stray water. It seems our litterboxes are in the deepest remaining water and that really annoyed him. He set up a thing that spins and blows air like wind. The water is slowly going away, so it must not like wind (and we don't either).
Meanwhile, The Big Thing has been keeping our only dry litterbox really clean, and we appreciate that. But he does have poop to clean up in places when he didn't know we were having trouble reaching our litterboxes. I'll be glad when he does. I don't like smelling that, either. We were sure both happy to get outside and do our business there where we can bury it better!
And he has given us more treats the past 2 lights! I suppose it balances out...

That Cold Pink Stuff...
Hey kitties, The Big Thing here: I really hate having to squirt that cold pink stuff down Skeeter's and LC's throats... They really hate it. I don't enjoy it either. I feel sad when they are upset. They aren't used to me grabbing them but I have had to. I just don't do that. It has always been trust and shared space in our cave. So they are upset. But for the last 2 weeks, I have had to force them to take some anti-bi-otics. Their recent blood tests show either an inflammation of their kidneys or a loss of general kidney function from old age and we have to find out which it is... They don't even know yet that they will have to go back to the Vet for another blood test (and none of you kitties try to tell them either). I just won't let them know!
The anti-bi-otics they sufferred me giving them the past half big moon are going to solve their problem and that's all there is to it! We all KNOW that, right? They are both going to be OK...
I have to call the vet next light and make an appoint-ment for us to visit him in a couple more lights. And he will tell me everything is OK. Then we can get back to enjoying our cave and the places inside and outside within The Wall.
Turning things back over to Skeeter and LC... :)

One More Pink Squirt And...
LC: And I'm gonna start throwing claws around! I'm getting really tired of it. Skeeter hardly runs away anymore whenever The Big Thing gets "that look", but I do. The Big Thing is getting really tricky. He starts to open the Big Hard Clear Thing just a bit, and I go running for that.
Even when Skeeter gets "the dose", I still want to get outside. Well, why shouldn't I. If I'm outside, he can't get me for a awhile. But now he grabs me in mid-jump! It's just not fair. He is far more tricksier than I am. GRR.
He apologizes every time (I think he really doesn't want to do this). But that's his problem! I sure don't want him to do it either and that doesn't stop him...
How does he catch me under my body every time? I can't get any claws at him. He is smooth!
On the other paw, he found a tickie under Skeeter's chin. Skeeter had been scratching at it. The Big Thing just "knew" it was there. I didn't know and Skeeter says he didn't either! He just turned Skeeter over on his back one day and went right for it! Picked it out all legs and all, too. Skeeter says he feels lots better there under the chin.
So, the next day, The Big Thing is scratching me and says "uh-oh". Oh mouse-droppings, I had just gotten over the morning "pink stuff" squirt. But sure enough, he found a tickie thing under my chin, too. I didn't even know it was there! I hated bing upside down, but he just spread some of my fur around and found it. He has the most amazing claws. I dunno how he does it!
He just spreads some fur carefully and finds them. Then he grabs them some little metal thing (I can smell the metal) and pops it right off. It feels weird hurts a little when he does it, but it feels so good afterwards!
I still want to get away afterwards because I hate being upside down and feeling all helpless and all. But I can feel the spot where the thing was and it isn't there anymore. That's cool!
I won't admit it at the time, but I give him a lot of dark attention later. He seems to like it when I wake him up all dark (well he scratches me, so he must). Skeeter sometimes gets under the blankies The Big Thing crawls under, and looks for any tickies, but he never finds any. But it is worth checking. Some tickie from The Big Thing might get on US, so we want to be careful.

Couldn't Get Out, and Then I wanted IN!
LC: So, The Big Thing went away almost all day. He just does that sometimes! He came back to the cave at first dark. So what happens? The Tree fur starts falling in waves. I mean, I was even watching them and I couldn't avoid them.
The Big Thing had scared the heck out of us by using some nasty sweeping thing that pushed all the tree-fur off the deck. But at least it was empty after that and we went back out. Then all of a sudden the tree-fur fell everywhere again. I couldn't avoid it! I ran round and round but the trees still threw stuff at me. I hid under the shelter The Big Thing Made for us, but I finally ran inside.
Oh mouse-droppings. I don't like to hide from anything, but all that was just too much! Better to be in the cave looking out than to be outside with it. And The Big Thing had dinner waiting. Can't miss dinner, or Skeeter will eat it all. He is a bottomless pit. Sometimes, I think his legs are hollow.

Serious Sucky Day!
Skeeter: What a day. The Big Thing woke up and immediately shoved the pink awful stuff down my throat. I couldn't help it, he caught me be surprise. He is usually up longer before he does that. I immediately went and hid in the basement. He just laughs when I run away after he does that, but it makes some sense to ME! He might do it again...
LC seems to not mind so much. I think that is weird. It is just WRONG to like anything banananana smelling! Besides, I don't want anything forced in my mouth, not even tuna. And I LIKE tuna.
The Big Thing says we are almost done with the awful cold pink anti-bi-otics. 3 more lights to go of that stuff. I'm getting ready to starting biting, and I don't bite The Big Thing!
It gets complicated. I'm ready to bite him about the cold pink stuff, but he found that tick under my chin I couldn't scratch off and he removed it! All of it, and no hair pulled AT ALL! How does he do that? He even let me sniff it afterwards (it smelled a lot like me)!? And then he killed it. I liked that.
I felt lots better afterwards. I mean, my chin didn't itch anymore. So, I don't know. Maybe that cold pink stuff is good for me too.
I think I will still fight him about that, though. It is really cold and it tastes nasty. He should make it tuna-flavored...

A Treed (well, poled) Squirrel
LC: I trapped a squirrel up the bird feeder! The Big Thing has 2 squirrel baf-fuls below the place where he puts birdie seeds. A squirrel tried to get up past them. It stuck its little ratty head into the lower baf-ful and couldn't see around itself, so I ran right over.

The silly thing crawled up into the round part and I just sat there waiting for it to fall.
And waited and waited and waited...
It tried to come down the pole a couple of times, but it saw me there. I waited a long time, but The Big Thing finally opened the dinner can of good wet smelly stuff and I went inside to eat.
The Big Thing did something funny though. He went out and hit the squirrel baf-ful with a metal thing. Wow, did that squirrel ever run out fast! I wish I had been under the bird-feeder then, but I was still cleaning my paws.

Strange Big Things!
LC: Sorry we haven't posted for a few lights. The Big Thing didn't turn on the computer, so we couldn't use it.
Well, The Big Thing's parents visited for 3 lights. Skeeter and I are always nervous when other Big Things visit, but they normally only stay a part of one light. And they took over MY room (that's my quiet place)!

I snuck in a couple of times, but I got shooed out again.
We knew something was up. The Big Thing was using the noisy sucky machine a lot more than usual, and he was using smelly sprays more than usual, too. He also moved stuff back and forth through the cave and took all our toys off the floor.

At least (it turned out) so our toys wouldn't get all stepped on. He left some in his bed room so we had something to do!
When the other Big Things arrived, Skeeter went and hid under The warm softy thing all day. I just sat in the room and watched and listened quietly. I came out and sat under tables and such later to see what they were doing better.
They sit a lot, so that was good. It meant I could slowly walk nearer to them until I was more sure of what they might do to me. Since they talked nice and stayed sitting, that made me feel safer.
The second light I finally went over at let one of them (barely) stroke me. Close enough to touch, but not grab, if you know what I mean. Later, I got close to the other Big Thing. I'm brave! And I don't care what The Big Thing thinks, I did NOT "panic" when the others started walking around. I was just being properly careful of my tail!
And I was NOT either afraid of the rolly thing one of them uses. It has wheels and is quiet, but it still reminds me of the big noisy thing that brings us to the vet, and I've been in that 4 times this big moon. I was just making sure I didn't get put in it and taken to the vet again! I like the older male Big Thing because he opens the hard clear thing so I can go outside and he lets me back inside, too.
Skeeter hardly came out at all. He came out to eat some food when things were very quiet and the strange Big Things were asleep. The second light, he came out when they were all eating. He even let them touch him. He says he figures they won't hurt him while they are busy eating. I think it is the smell of their food he likes. He didn't get any of their food, but he acts a lot more friendly when he can smell food. He isn't brave like me, but he is always interested in good-smelly food. He did get a little taste later, though (I sniffed it but went back to my wet smelly good stuff bowl).
The 3rd light, we both stayed in the main rooms where the Big Things were and let them touch us many times. Skeeter even curled up on our Big Thing's lap twice while the others were in the same room.
The Big Thing says we would get used to having other Big Things around if they stayed a whole Moon. Maybe, but it just seems unnatural to have more than one Big Thing in the cave. We would have to be watching too many Big Things all the time (to make sure we didn't get our tailses stepped on, whether they were going to use the noisy sucky thing, whether they were going to take us to the vet, etc).
I mean, 3 Big Things means 3 times the vet trips, right? They all seem to enjoy doing that! But maybe we would get out more often. And there would be more scratches under the chin. But we're not sure; they make a lot of noise talking to each other all the time, and there are all those extra feet to watch out for. We already get all the food we want. And I want my quiet room! Even Skeeter hardly ever goes in there.
Well, anyway, the strange Big Things got up at early light. There was an awful lot of noise and walking and things being moved around. Our Big Thing put us in his sleepy room and closed the door (so we wouldn't be bothered too much).
After a few licks, The Big Thing opened the door and let us out. We looked and listened all over the cave. Apparently the strange Big Things have left. I went and napped in my favorite bright warm spot. Skeeter went and ate all the old dry smelly food and some dry crunchies and didn't even worry when The Big Thing walked through the room.
Then we all went outside and walked around together for a while. Things seem back to normal and Skeeter and I like that.
I oddly miss the strange Big Things, though. I wonder why... Maybe however things are, they should stay that way. I guess I just like knowing what to expect each light.

Med-I-Ca-Shun
LC: Me and Skeeter have to get med-i-ca-shun! It's some cold pink fruity-tasting stuff. Once each light and once each dark. For a half a big moon (The Big Thing says). That vet thing says we have something high in our kidneys. Then we have to go back and get blood drained again. AGAIN!
The Big Thing explained to us that he is just being careful. It could just be a natural consequence of getting older, but it could be an in-fec-shun that can be fixed. Well, if in-fec-shuns are like ticks or fleas, we sure don't want them. But we don't want that cold icky stuff squirted in our mouths, either! The Big Thing says he is sorry to do it, but we isn't too sure; he seems very satisfied after he does it (and we can smell that about him). He just reeks of happiness after it is done...
At least he gives us some wet good food afterwards. I ate mine just to get the fruity taste out of my mouth, but Skeeter just ran away and hid under the bed all day. I went under the bed too to let him smell my breath and see that the taste goes away if we eat, but he would rather just hide and sulk. So I go sleep on top of the warm softy thing. I even let him take my picture again.

The Big Thing just talked to the vet again. There were 5 whole tests (must be one for each paw-claw) and we are OK on all of them but the kidney one. The kidney one is just barely high. I figur that must be a problem because Skeeter and I bunny-kick each other a lot, I suppose. I'll have to kick him harder to make him have to take that stuff longer than me!
But The Big Thing really says it is just a pre-caw-shun and we really don't have to worry. But we still have to get the pink stuff squirted down our throats...

The Sky Is Falling!
Skeeter: It is getting dangerous out on the deck. Stuff keeps falling from the trees. The tree-fur falls soft and slow, and that's OK, but hard things are hitting the cave (and bouncing off), and they hit the deck directly with a horrible sudden noise. The Big Thing says they are "eggcorns". I didn't know trees laid eggs of corn or anything else. And why would they throw them at the deck anyway? They are sure tough eggs, though; they don't break. The Big Thing breaks chickie eggs with his bare hands and those are bigger. He is really really strong.

When the tree eggcorns start hitting the deck, I run inside fast! LC stays outside, but she sits away from the trees. I'm not taking a chance like that, though. Who knows how far the trees can throw their eggs?

Shot!
Skeeter: Well, the kitty prisons came out today! I spent all morning sneaking around and hiding in my best places, but by afternoon, I forgot about them. When The Big Thing picked LC off the bed, though, I remembered and hid under the bed. It has a wood frame and I can hid against the wall. He had to move the top of it to get me out. I ran around the house and then got back under the bed again. He finally pushed a mop at me, so I had to leave again. He trapped me in a corner and gotted me. :(
Here we are in the kitty prisons in the Big Noisy Thing about to be hauled off to the VET!

I started moaning my loudest voice all the way to the vet. Even LC cried some and she hardly never talks. We both got stabbed a couple of times and had some stuff squirted in our nosies. We both had something pushed into our butts, too. How humiliating! And THEN we were taken away from The Big Thing and had some of our blood drained. We fought going into the kitty prison at home, but we sure got into them in a hurry when the vet let loose of us!
LC: It gets worse. I have to go back tommorrow! The Big Thing says I have dirty teeth, and the vet forgot my rabies shot, too. Maybe I can bite the vet with my dirty teeth and then HE will have to get shot...
Skeeter and I have decided we will NOT sleep next to The Big Thing tonight!

Breakfast Wet Food
Skeeter: The Big Thing has started to get up earlier in the light. That's good! We get to go out in more light than we have for months. But better yet, he has started to open cans of good wet stuff in the morning for us too.
When he was getting up in the late daylight, we only got dinner. But now we are getting an early meal too and that is great! I love it and attack it the instant the bowls hit the floor. LC looks around first (well, of course she has to wait to see which bowl I will go at). But we are getting more of the good wet stuff all of a sudden. I don't know why, and I don't care. But I would rather eat that wet stuff than the dry stuff anytime! I love gravy and liquid tastes to lap. The solid stuff, too, but I think I could just lap up softy gravies forever.
LC will eat the solid stuff I leave behind....

Some Weird Holiday
LC: I was looking out the street-side window today and I saw the next door kitty (a rather nice friendly one I have even sat next to and purred with) wearing some horrivle pointy hat and a drape on its back. The poor thing kept tripping on the drape and the hat fell under his head when he ran.
KITTIES DON'T WEAR COSTUMES, people! We are perfect in our fur, and we DON'T need decorating. Does your Halloween Black Cat decoration wear a towel? Of course not.

How-Oww!
Skeeter: How does the Big Thing know it is time to have us shot again. We found the postitie card (I know anything that has my name on it is the bad thing) and hid it. But he just called the vet person and asked anyway. How does he know it is THAT time?
I bet the kitty prisons show up next week. Maybe we can pin him down under the softy things!

Stabby Time
Skeeter and LC: Oh Max, you just had to mention the stabby place. We pulled this postitie card off the table just today and we are going to get stabbed, both of us a bunch times. And get stuff squirted up our noses! Probly in our butts too (well they stick something back there when we are pinned down and helpless).

We'll get even with the The Big Thing for that. He forgets how much grass we can eat and bring inside. And we do know how to pee and poop right next to the litterboxes, too!

Pawsitive Entanglement
Skeeter: I like to spend my time when The Big Thing is at the computer thing by curling up around the legs of the wheely chair. I like it, he hates it. He has to spend a couple of minutes untangling me everytime he wants to move the chair.
That's not my problem! It's his to make sure he doesn't roll over any part of me. I do it to make sure he remembers I am there. I do it to make sure he has to PAY ATTENTION to me.
Well he should, right? All the time, too. If he doesn't know where I am, then he isn't doing what he should be doing. Which is paying attention to me.
If he would let me up on his lap when he is at the computer thing, he wouldn't have that problem. And, we can't type on it when he is hogging the thing himself! So until he is driven away, we can't communicat. Hmph!
The Big Thing finally went off to eat some goodies we can't have, but at least me and LC can get at it while he is away!
PAW POWER! PAWER TO THE KITTIES! Oh oh, he's coming back! Offline…

ME OUT!
When is he going to get up and let us out. It looks nice outside, no windy and good sun. What do we have to do to get him up? Jump on him, maybe? We think we are going to have to go sneeze in his face...
No Lap!
Skeeter: It's just not right. I went through the whole Light and got no lap time. The Big Thing didded stuff outside and he is supposed to sit in front of the sparkly box and go all soft after that, an he just didn't! What's the world coming to. Have to really sit on him tonight to make up for that...
Sit under the softy things too and lay on him there. LC agrees, and she doesn't normally like to get under the softy things like I do. But sometimes she does if I ask her nice..
Have to remind him we are here when he gets cleaning and all...
We should bite his ear, too, when he is napping.

Cleaning!
Skeeter: The Big Thing is removing stuff from tables, using the big sucky macine and spraying nasty chemicals. He does some of that from Moon to Moon, but when he starts doing a lot of that at once, I know what it means. Other Big Things are coming soon!
I hate that! LC doesn't mind it like I do, but she doesn't exactly LIKE it either.
It usually means 2 other older Big Things arriving for several lights, and our whole routine gets changed. They smell a bit like my Big Thing, so maybe they are like The Mom Cat I remember as a kitten. I guess he really likes having The Mom Big Thing visit, or he wouldn't go through a lot of trouble about it. It's just that she wants to grab us when we get close enough, and we don't like that. The Older Male Big Thing is easier to deal with. If we walk by, he just scratches us and lets us go on our way. If he knew the right kind of lap to make, I would give him a try.

The Vet and The Rainbow Bridge
Skeeter and LC: We have been reading other kitty blogs lately and we are both happy and sad. We are sad because so many kitties are crossing the Rainbow Bridge. It is hard to read about their crossing and The Big Thing just drips water all over the place. Most endings seem to involve "the vet", and that worries us. We get brought to "the vet" every year at this time.
We get forced into the kittie prisons, put in the loud moving machine and carried into a place with other frightened kitties and doggies and others. We get stabbed and poked and they even push things up our butts sometimes. They squirt stuff in our noses, even. We get handled in ways we don't like, and The Big Thing even helps them hold us down for that.
We are even relieved to get back in our kittie prisons, because we know we are going home again (well after 13 years, we have figured out that part), and we know we aren't going to get stabbed and poked anymore for a looooong time.
We know from what we've been reading that one day we won't come back home from that "vet" place. We have to go there every year, and who knows when that last visit will be?
But we are happy also. We both feel great and have no problems to admit to (even if we would). We know that Tinkerbelle, The Cat Who Came Before, just left on her own one day when she was too tired to go on (cause we were there at the time). We know (because Tinkerbelle told us) that The Cat Who Came Before Her crossed the Rainbow Bridge in her sleep. So maybe it won't be so bad. And if The Big Thing is holding us at the end, that wouldn't be so bad either.
Tinkerbelle told us about the Rainbow Bridge before she left. We don't mean she told us she was planning to go there, just that she let us know about it. She said it was a good place and that we all would see The Big Thing some happy day after that. We'll stay with The Big Thing as long as we can because we like this place, but maybe crossing the Bridge isn't so bad. We will want to talk to Those Cats Who Came Before and compare lap sleeping and treats and toys and stuff. That will be nice while we wait for him to show up...

Big Thing Activities
Skeeter: The Big Thing is doing stuff outside today, and I don't like that much! I like tree-fur on the deck, I like the grass being long, and I like cluttery sheds! At least it was quiet stuff. I really hate the big noisy thing that makes the grass short. He knows to call me inside and close the hard clear thing when he does that. LC just goes and sits in a place the noisy things never goes; I don't know how she can stand it.
When he pushes tree-fur off the deck, he does it all at once. I enjoy doing that, too, but just a few bits at a time! He tries to use it all up in some sort of FRAP. Well, that's OK, he misses lots of pieces, so there are still some for me.
The grass-shortening thing is worse. I hide under the bed where it can't get me. I've never seen it in the cave, but you never know. Big Things are crazy. And dangerous sometimes. LC says she stays outside where she can keep her eyes and ears on it. But he leaves the grass so short, it is hardly worth chewing on, just real soft stuff. We have to go looking for anything worth chewing.
The sheds are different. He hasn't done that before that I recall. And why does he call those little houses "sheds", anyway? I never see anything falling off them! Well, they don't seem to have fur, but I think they have scales, like big whole fishies (I pawed at one once trying to figure out how to get a bite). A hard thing fell off the side once, but he put it back on so maybe it was just injured. So, today, he took everything out of it and pushed all the tree-fur and other little stuff out (he seems to hate tree-fur and grass).
The good news is that he uncovered several mousie nests. The bad news is that there weren't no mousies in them. I could smell them after he pushed them out of the shed and went away for a naptime. It was kind of weird, though. I could smell mostly mousie, but there were feathers in there too. I never got a mousie with feathers! That would be cool.
Anyway, after he was happy pushing all the stuff out of the shed, he put most of the large stuff back in!
It really must be a Big Thing FRAP!

Shrimpsies!
LC: We gotted shrimpsies tonight! The Big Thing cooked a while bunch (yuck), but he saved 2 from the hot water just for us! He made Skeeter stand up for the first piece of one, but then he gave us whole shrimpsies. We just scarfed them right down! Skeeter went right up on The Big Thing's lap after that, and they both fell asleep in front of the sparkly box, but I went to the big warm softy thing and purred myself to sleep in happy-tummy.
Skeeter will be good to him now, but I will warm him up wen he crawls under the softy things later. Prrrrrrrrrr.

Paws and Tailses Again
Skeeter: We do what we can. He is a pretty clunky old Big Thing, but he tries his best to remember that he is lots bigger than we are. That's why we likes him best when he is sitting or lying down. But he has to move around, too, so we try to be careful. Roomies have to watch out for each other. I used to watch his feet most, but now I think it is better to watch his eyes. He (almost) always looks in the direction he intends to move. But sometimes he doesn't. That's always a surprise to us. He can walk backwards! I've tried that and I almost can't do it. I just HAVE to look where I'm going even if LC is pouncing me! And The Big Thing stood upsie down on his front paws once, just to amuse us (I think). So he can do some weird things we can't.
The "being careful" works both ways. Sometimes I get my claws into him when I jump up on his lap, and he tries not complain (well, sometimes from down below, I can't tell where his skin is when I jump). But I can feel the difference, and he can too. He makes a funny face when that happens, but he still always welcomes me up.
I guess you can't have a safer lap to sleep on than that.

Sparkly Box
LC: The Big Thing stares at the sparkly square box often. Skeeter likes sitting on his lap because he doesn't move much then. But I see things there sometimes, and I don't think Skeeter does! So I sit in front of them and I watch the sparkly thing too. Sometimes I see really big kitties and sometimes I see mousies (and even fishies). So I watch it when I can see those things. I don't understand why Skeeter doesn't see the mousies and fishies. I see them.
The Big Thing sees things there, and I do, why doesn't Skeeter?

Not Stepping on Paws or Tailses
Skeeter: The Big Thing is pretty careful of us. He's learned to do the "kitty-shuffle". I mean that he has learned we are smaller and steppable-on. So he walks around hardly lifting his big heavy feet (clad in some horrible hard skin). At worst I get shoved and not waffle-stomped!
He did step on my tail last Big Moon. It's not MY fault that I snuck up behind him while he was preparing his food. He should KNOW where I am at all times! So there I was cleaning my paws and he steps back right on my tail. I let out such a scream that he almost fell over (guess I'll have to yell louder next time). He felt real bad and held me and gave me a snack. I wouldn't recommend it as a way of getting a snack, though.

Yucky Days!
Skeeter: Yucky days! All falling water and blowy air. I hate both! LC went out for a while, but even she couldn't stand it for long. And she doesn't even mind being wet. My little sister is weird. The Big Thing put up a rain measuring thing a Big Moon ago, and there is more rain in it than I have seen before. It is up over the "2". That looks like it might wet my butt, so I ain't going out AT ALL.
I wouldn't mind if The Big Thing would open the hard clear thing so I could sniff and hear the outside some. He says it is too cold. I think it is refreshing. He should just keep more fur on (he can take his off)!
But I want it to be dark and dry again, so I can find some mousies!

The Darktime Routine...
LC: OK, here's the set up... The Neverending bubble water thingy is in the little room next to where The Big Thing sleeps. The Neverending dry food thing is in the room where The Big Thing prepares his own food (and we like that cause sometimes we get some), and the litter boxes are down the stairs.
When the dark comes, we go and sleep on the warm softy bed. About half through the dark, The Big Thing takes over the bed, we have to get off, and he crawls UNDER the softy stuff. When he stops moving around, we get back on the softy stuff on opposite sides of him to help him not move around anymore. That works for a while. Then I want some water and fun, so I walk across him to the water bubbly thing. I like the bubbles that come up from it. If I don't get bubbles by drinking water, I splash enough out util the bubbles appear. I try to catch them, but it is like that water thing with the fishies in it. I can't get them. But I won't give up.
Then I get back up on the softy things and bump my head against The Big Thing until he wakes up enough to scratch me as I slowly walk out of reach. Sometimes I wipe the water off my paws on his ears. I usually lay on his feet after that.
Then it is Skeeter's turn. He walks across The Big Thing and sneezes in his face. Skeeter likes that, cause it makes The Big Thing wake up and he gets scratched for a few laps. Then Skeeter walks across him again and goes to eat some dry crunchies.
After The Big Thing stops moving around, I go bump him awake until he scratches me for a few laps again. Then I fall asleep again.
Meanwhile, Skeeter comes back and stands on The Big Thing until he wakes up and scratches him for a few minutes. Sometimes Skeeter pushes under the softy things and lays right on The Big Thing and gets lots more scratches until he gets too hot and walks over The Big Thing to get out.
Then I walk over them both to get some dry crunchies. After that, of course, I'm wide awake, so I play with any hard noisy stuff I can bat around. If we are lucky, there is a strange animal outside the big hard clear thing, so we yell at it to go away. Sometimes The Big Thing even gets up to HELP us. We like that!
But he doesn't stay up to play. He just goes back under the softy things. Wow, if we slept are hard as he does, we'ed be eaten by something for sure! We guess he is too big to be eaten.

That Wall!
LC: Well, I got up on The Wall again today. It took two tries. I don't know why I can't do it as easily as I used to. I feel just fine. Maybe it is all the leaves on the ground. Yeah, that's the problem, they make the ground all soft and I can't get a good jump from that... The Big Thing watched the first time I failed today and his eyes got all wet. I just have to try harder, right? I love being on top of The Wall.

The Wall
LC: I tried to got up on the top of The Wall again today. It has been harder lately. It took me 3 tries this time and I couldn't do it. I like it up there. I liked to sit and watch tree rats, other kitties, and doggies from up there safely. But it is harder to get up there these days. And it seems such a long way down now, I don't like that much either.
Last Big Moon when I jumped down, I hurted a paw and limped for 2 lights and darks til it gotted better. I just landed on a movey thing. I can still jump up way higher than Skeeter, though. But I don't think I'm going to jump up on The Wall much anymore. It just seems so much higher these days.

Merlin
(Psychokitty Max reports) "Merlin, the little kitty we were pulling for, went to the Rainbow Bridge. He was at home with his Woman when he decided it was time, and he trotted off on his own terms."
We are so sorry bout Merlin. We did our best kitty mojo for him and we is sorry it wasn't enough. We are glad the end happened while he was at home, though. We wouldn't want to be alone in a strange place at The Earth End.
But sometimes, nothing is enough. We tried and tried to get Tinkerbelle back to us, and we wished and hoped The Winter Kitty would visit us again. Neither of those hopes happened, either.
We think we can hope for things but they don't always happen. We don't know why they sometimes don't happen, and that really upsets us. Life is supposed to be just good, but sometimes it isn't…
We know there were "kitties who came before" and lived with The Big Thing and lived their whole lives, so we know that The Big Thing lives longer than we do. When we meet over the Rainbow Bridge, his life will be over too, and we will all be together, all of us kitties and him too.
We will play together, all of us will be healthy and well, and he will be too. And we will all cover him in kitty warmth when we sleep, and we will play together or nap as we please with him and all of us will be happy again.
Goodbye, Merlin.

A Big Birdie, Again
Skeeter: Well, we actually got some of that big birdie after all. The Big Thing tore it to pieces yesterday (yikes, he is strong). As he was putting it into small containers ("no, don't put it away!") he pulled some from the middle and gave it to us. There was some odd taste to it, but we ate it. After that, he put down another little piece with skin, and we didn't like the smell of that at all. We left that and he just made that awful choking sound he makes when he thinks something is funny.
We felt fine all dark, but The Big Thing sure doesn't end up with much birdie that is worth eating! But, as LC said, he sure seems to like it lots... But then, he eats plants and bubbly liquids too. Go figure!

A Big Birdie
LC: The Big Thing cooked a big birdie today, and we didn't get a bit of it! It seems that when he heats those things up in the cave heating thing or the outside heating thing, we can't have any, but when he does that on top of the cave heating thing in a pot of water, we can. We don't understand that at all.
He says we'll just throw up because he puts hot weedy smelly stuff on them except when he "boils" them (that must be the heated water treatment). He has watched us begging the other times and he let us smell his hand once after he rubbed stuff all over the perfectly good birdie. Skeeter licked it once and he said that wasn't a good thing to do AT ALL! He drank a whole bowl of water after that (and he peed all dark too, hee-hee).
The Big Thing sure seems to like birdies made that way, though. He gave us some treats after wards. Well, he sure should. We had to smell that birdie, and not have any! Skeeter said he might stop bringing The Big Thing any more mousies, cause he might cover them with that smelly stuff, too.

Quiet Lights and Darks
Skeeter: The Big Thing went away almost all light yesterday like he used to do. I hope he doesn't start doing that again very much! So we just sort of slept most of the time he was gone. He came back before dinner, though, and with all sorts of interesting smells. I guess that wasn't too bad. None of the interesting smells were food, and that was too bad. But it was tuna night, and we likes that best.
Because we were stuck in the cave most all light yesterday, we stayed out late. We didn't get a special treat when we came in this time, but there was still some tuna left. Hmmm, maybe if we had eaten it all, we would have got a treat. I'll have to make sure not to leave any next time he is gone all light!

BD
Skeeter & LC: We can't not mention BD, one of the moast amazing kitties of all times! We never met him personally, but we knew about him. And we think he would have been a favulous kitty to have around. BD lived with another Big Thing our Big Thing knows and The Big Thing told us about him and we told the Mows.

BD went over the Rainbow Bridge August 10, 2005... We wishes we had met him before he left.

Wow a Real Treat for being outsife Late
The Big Thing left the hard clear thing open because it was cool outside. We got outsife in the Dark for hours. When he realized it, we were on the deck and we came right inside when he called. He gave us a special can of wet smelly good stuff! OOzies!

A Birdie at the Window!
LC: We were sitting watching the shiny box with the changing pictures today, and there was a sudden "thump" at the big clear thing we can't get through. We know what that means! A birdie hit it. Skeeter jumped off The Big Thing suddenly (and he yelled when Skeeter jumped). I was sitting on the otto-man in front of him and I jumped, too (but The Big Thing didn't yell when I did that - go figure). We both stared at the birdie laying there.
The Big Thing got up and stared at the birdie for a few laps, then went downstairs. Then he appeared outside with the birdie. We don't know how he does that, but he has done it before. We know what happens next, though. If the birdie doesn't move anymore, he opens the clear hard thing and we can get at it. If it starts to move again, he won't let us out and we have to stare at it while it flops around and finally flies away.
This one flopped around and finally flew away. Oh "mouse-droppings"! I like birdies. I don't like the fuzzy stuff they are covered in though.
Then The Big Thing showed up inside the cave, and he gave us treats! I suppose that wasn't TOO bad, but I would rather get at the birdie! Hmmm, I wonder if we can tell the birdies to fake-hit the clear hard thing and then fly away. Maybe we would get more treats then.

A Kitten Picture (Skeeter)
Skeeter: I found 2 great pictures of The Winter Kitty. He had such gynormous paws, and he was SO big too (even bigger than me and I was not small even then). Well, maybe some small, but LC was small next to me and I was small next to The Winter KItty.

He's the only kitty I've ever met bigger than me. He was like 2 cats in 1! And paws? He had almost 2 paws on every paw!

Presents!
LC: Ohhh, we got a present today from The Big Thing! He saw that we were getting annoyed brushing whiskers at the double food thingy all the the time (and Skeeter sometimes just moves his big fat head and starts eating out of my side).

So he brought us some separate bowls.

I had my first peaceful meal in unknown big moons! He put them a Skeeter-length apart and I had mine all to myself. We didn't brush whiskers even once! Aren't they pretty? I hope he saves the ones with the little kitties on them for me. Skeeter wouldn't care. I think The Big Thing could just plop his food on the floor and Skeeter would be eating it as it fell! I, of course, am more so-fisti-CATed...

It's 5 O'Clock Even at 4 O'Clock
Skeeter: I want my dinner! The Big Thing makes me wait and I'm tired of it. I WANT WET GOOD-SMELLY FOOD NOW! I don't CARE IF IT IS ONLY "4 MOUSE-DROPPING :30 PM"... I'm going to drive The Big Thing crazy un til I get it...

Comments Problem
Skeeter here: Oopsies, we seem to have did someting to our beautiful new blog so that kitties couldn't leave comments. We thinks it is fixed now so that anyone can leave comments and we is really sorry for that mistake. We is really new at this!
So feel free to go back and put comments on any of our posts and we will look for them everyday.
LC and I are so thankful to The Meezers for telling us!!!(http://www.meezertails.blogspot.com/)

A Kitten Picture (LC)
LC: The Big Thing still hasn't caught that diggy animal yet. He put empty plastic pots in the holes to see if they got pushed back out, but I checked again this evening and they are still there. Maybe it left. Skeeter and I would like to see it up closer, but I wouldn't mind if it was gone. I don't like the idea of some sneaky diggy thing jumping out of the ground at me when I'm not looking!
We found our kitten pictures! Most of mine don't show how little I was then, so I chose this one sleeping next to my enormous big brother (who was a whole 18 months) when I was 6 months old. I still like sleeping next to him because he is big and soft and warm.

It has been rainy for 3 lights now. I still go outside some because I don't mind it like Skeeter does. The froggies come out more when it is wet! But it is nice to have Skeeter out with me, so I hopes it stops raining soon…

Strange Animal
Skeeter: There's some weird animal that digs holes in our yard enclosed by The Wall, and The Big Thing has been trying to catch it. I don't mean he chases it around; he has this metal cage (uncomfortably like the kitty-prisons he brings us to the sticky place in). LC got in it once. You walk in to explore it, step on a thing, it it closes a door behind you! So The Big Thing wanted to catch this strange hole-digging animal (bigger than me!).
We went outside today and we could smell something, so we both went to look. The Big Thing saw us looking and ran to the metal cage. He seemed really annoyed, but it seemed the right size. He called us in (LC didn't want to, but I always come in when he asks). He took it to the big smelly thing in the garage and thundered off with it.
[Rare Big Thing note: Trying to catch a groundhog that is eating my garden, but I caught a possum. I have a Have-a-heart cage and release varmints caught inside The Wall safely far away in a field and wooded area]
Anyway, he came back without it. I hope he didn't eat it, it smelled terrible and we coukld see fleas! He put the metal cage back near the holes in the ground where we can smell the other strange animal. I hope he catches it, I want to smell it more closely. We've seen it before but can't get close enough to sniff it properly. It eats plants, so it isn't an underground kitty!
I wish I could figure out what it is... I wonder what it would taste like? chicken, or mousies? It wouldn't be fishies unless it is really wet down that hole.

Kitty Match Game!
LC: We haven't any prizes to give away (and like Im going to give my catmint or mousies to you), but we thought of a game to play. We start a sentence and you finish it. Winners gets mentioned.
Skeeter started it when I was a kitten. He would say "I ate 3 grasshoppers today and I..." And I had to figure out what happened. So I would guess "threw up"? and he would say no, "I hopped around all day". I didn't get it at first, but then I realized he was making a funny, like when he jumps on the table newspaper only there isn't any table underneath it and he BARELY gets his feet under him, LOL! We have a lot of fun with that.
So we are trying it out among the other kitties in the blog-os-fere...
When I make the starts, Skeeter decides the winner, when he starts them, I decide.
So, the first one is "I caught the BIGGEST mousie yesterday and it turned and said...

The Big Thing is Re-Tired
LC: Well, The Big Thing is home all the time now for 6 big moons, and we don't know why that changed, but we likes it!
We get the good-smelly wet food every day at the right time now and sometimes a little at brightest light. I don't mind waiting, but it keeps Skeeter from begging unendingly a bit before dinnertime. I am just as happy with the dry crunchies. Sometimes they taste like swimmy things and sometimes like animals I don't recognize, but I like them all.
The Big Thing is just around all the time. In front of the big box of changing pictures (which I like to watch and Skeeter doesn't) and making a lap (which Skeeter likes and I doesn't).
But mostly, it means I can go outside into the enclosed area anytime I want. Skeeter won't unless The Big Thing goes out with him, but I'm not afraid to go out there by myself. I loves it! I can stalk froggies, sit in the tall plants unseen and watch the yard, guard the yard from strange kitties (and chase them when they come after our catmint and mousies and froggies)and just sleep in the bright light that is sooo warm. I can roll in the dirt and dust all I want and I can pee and poop outside and I like that a lot.
And The Big Thing always sees when I want to come inside, too. That's wonderful! I just come up on the deck, and he seems to know when I am there and lets me inside again. Then I can go lick Skeeter and hop up on the big soft warm thing place and take a good long nap! I wish I could control the big hard clear thing that prevents me from going in and out, but he does a pretty good job of knowing when to open it, so I don't mind too much. And sitting up on the deck is pretty good too, even when I want to come inside. I can see over the Wall and there is interesting stuff outside it.
But he seems to know when I want to come back inside the cave, and that is good. It is good to have The Big Thing around all the time now. I never thought of that until he stayed all the time.

The Big Thing stays Home Forever!
Skeeter: After the last snowy time, The Big Thing stopped leaving the cave in the dark and returning in the next dark. He just stays here all the time! He says he is Re-Tir-Ed. It has been 6 large moons since he left every day, and LC and I love it.
We get to go outside in the big enclosed place surrounded by the Wall whenever we want, we get wet food earlier, we get to poop outside a lot more (and The Big Thing seems to like that too), we get to watch the birdies and tree-rats a lot closer, and it is so nice to just sleep on the tall grassy plants in the sunlight! And he is outside with us so much.
We follow him around a lot. We don't bother him much unless we wants scratching (which is often), but we always stay near. We feels safe in the enclosed place, but it is even safer near him. Now we can chase those strange kitties that used to sit in our enclosed place and nibble our kitty-crack and eat our mousies!
LC is so weird when she chases a strange kitty. She just bounces at them on all 4 paws and they get so weirded out that they run over the Wall! Then she comes back to The Big Thing with her tail all puffed and high. She only had one that stopped and hissed at her, but I went and helped her. It was so scared after both of us chased it, it actually went right through the Wall! Wow, I can't even get my head into the little spaces in the Wall. I wouldn't even try, because my whiskers tell me not to...
LC: LOL! Skeeter laughs at the way I attack strange kitties in our big enclosed Wall place. But they sure run when I bounce at them! They don't know WHAT is happenning. Well, one of us has to protect our mousies and froggies from strange kitties, so I do. I'm very brave! And I LIKE being very brave. Skeeter is bigger than me, but he is all "cautious" of strange kitties unless I actually get in a fight. Don't tell anyone I said so, but he is a very protective good "big brother". If I get in trouble, he really runs and helps me out. Not many strange kitties have a chance against me, and NO strange kitties stand a chance against US!
But it is really nice having The Big Thing around all the time. I really love getting to go outside whenever I want. And he sleeps on the warm soft bed longer these days, so I can lay right on him for longer and Skeeter and I really like that.

Oops, Just Had to Say
Skeeter & LC: A sneaky message from the present again (not the promised new post from CATching Up...)... The Big Thing was sitting in front of the shiny box where we see kitty pictures and mutterring about "H T M L" in spite of the fact that it is so cool he left the hard shiny thing open and it is dark and we can got outside when we want.
So we brought him a mousie to play with. We don't care if he calls then "voles", "moles", or "mices", they are all mousies to us. So anyways, we brought it to him in turns. One of us pawed it in a few feet ad then the other. And neither of us cheated a bit of pawing at all, not not a tiny bit. We got it near him and he couldn't even tell it was there! So we both pawed at him at the same time and he finally looked down and saw it.
He was so happy! He petted us and scratched us with both paws. He was very happy it wasn't alive anymore, too. We've learned he likes dead mousies much better than live ones! He likes to play with the dead ones. He moves them around to make them seem alive again, and we love that. Much better than the always-dead mousies he sometimes tosses around. He moves the ones we cath around on the floor and tosses them around and plays with them with us.
We like that cause we can still smell those mousies we catch very well. We both play with them more. And he tells us what great hunters we are! We likes that a lot too!
LC: Skeeter is kind. He usually catches the mousies, but he let's me share in the credit. I catch froggies. When Skkeeter gets a mousie, I enjoy it, and groom him. But he doesn't seem to care for the froggies I catch. But then Skeeter eats crawly and flappy little bugs, and I don't care about them either. The Big Thing relly doesn't like it when Skeeter brings crawly flappy bugs inside the cave. He just grabs them and tosses them back outside. Skeeter gets all upset and goes running out after them. And The Big Thing usually just closes the hard clear thing trapping Skeeter outside after that. And Skeeter hates that.
When I bring a froggie into the cave, The Big Thing gets all excited and helps me catch it again. He tells me I am a good huntress, but he also takes the froggie outside (and I follow it avidly). Then I get to chase it again (hop, hop, hop). But he doesn't close the door on me cause I stay outside with them mostly. Hah on Skeeter and his stupid mousies!
Skeeter: Well, The Big Thing likes the mousies I catch. He must eat them, because they are always gone when we come inside again. I eat my fill, and I give the last one to LC, and at least sometimes she will eat them instead of those frogs she catches. Wow, what a water-cat! Bleh! The Big Thing seemed pretty excited about the one we brought inside tonight. At least I killed it first! He got real bent up when I used to bring then in alive. I let LC help me deliver this one. We all played with it for a while. She just catches frogs, usually, so she needs some credit with the mousies. I even let her sometimes eat one when I would like to. So I made sure to let her help me bring this one to The Big Thing so she would get some credit and scratchings. Then we both went back outside. It is so nice outside in the quiet dark enclosed yard...

CATching Up to the Present
Skeeter & LC: After Boo left for her new home and The Winter Kitty stopped coming to visit, things fell into a routine for us for several snowy times. We would be home alone for most of the light, The Big Thing would visit when it got dark, feed us, go out into our big yard surrounded by the Wall with us for a while, and we would go inside and all sleep on the big warm soft bed. Every light (and sometimes late dark), The Big Thing would leave again, we would find the litter boxes clean, and we would sleep and play and eat in our big cave.
Sometimes we would stare out the hard clear things at strange Big Things and Little Big Things. Sometimes a strange kitty would come up on our "deck" and we would yell at it to go away and get out of our big yard (and leave our mousies, frogs, and kitty-crack plants alone).
And just before each snowy time came, The Big Thing would push us into our individual kitty cages and take us away to the stabby-place! We don't EVER forget that and we stays away from him for days. We even know where you hides the kitty cages and when he opens that door, we run and hide.
But when the last snowy time ended, The Big Thing stopped leaving every light! He is here all the time!
Next: The Big Things stays home forever!
