While the film itself is still in post-production including the game only exclusive footage the actual game play is well into development.

Not only do we have the interface, quick time system and puzzle logic complete but we are also building out a perma death survival mode in the game.

This involves a lead character and will be incorporated into a game exclusive scenario not seen in the actual short film and expanding on the lore.

We are keeping the actual game play guarded as we have been witnessing great organic demand for the game behind the scenes and don’t want to spoil the film or game. We will be revealing sneak peaks along the way though.

Mobile First

One thing we can say is the game is being made for mobile first play although it will also have a PC copy.

There is a severe lack of original 3D games for mobile due to mobile device limitation power for forming realistic environments, but with enough optimisation they are still possible. Plus, the market potential for horror games is huge on mobile as most developers shy away due to this difficult limitation to overcome.

With the game being a live action title, we are blending horror with casual gaming tapping into a market that PC and console systems alone neglect and allowing our game to be opened up to an additional billion strong gamers and more importantly horror film fans.

Android, iOS and Switch

We will be rolling out of the game for Android, then iOS and finally for Nintendo Switch when targeting portable devices.

The PC version will come hot on the heels of the Android release.

Most of the profit generated by the game and film will go back into further live action titles that FEAR will incubate as we look drive the Film3 narrative in innovative ways through gamification.

AI Inclusion

There’s a lot of hype around AI right now and rightfully so, it will considerably speed up more monotonous tasks in the future for game development allowing more time to be freed up to the creative development of games.

However, AI tools are not there yet in terms of their entirety use case. While we commonly flirt with standard tools such as GitHub Co Pilot and Chat Gpt what we have in mind for AI and Body Worn Video isn’t some third party plugin util to tick a box.

AI Predator System

The main way we are utilising AI within Body Worn Video game is through our psychological profile and predatory system.

The enemy in BWV will adapt both physically and mentally to a psychological profile system we are developing and integrating into the game. This system will assess each gamers behavior and fears throughout the game and use it against them.

This means we are working towards an enemy that is truly terrifying to the individual gamer’s darkest of fears. Such a cunning enemy will instill terror in all who try to survive this true British film nightmare.

More details about the games antagonist, its origins and our AI system will be revealed shortly!

Visit https://film.fear.io/ for the latest on the film and live action games developments.

How big is the burn, its Bloody, Bloody YUGE!

Headline Stats

Total FEAR Being Burnt: 20 million FEAR!

30% Max Supply Burnt!

Pre Burn Total Supply: 62,096,223.69

Post Burn Total Supply: 42,096,223.69

Where is the FEAR Coming from?

Teams Tokens Slashed by 50%

Hard Burn: 13,000,000 -> 6,500,000

A reminder teams tokens are locked until Feb 2025!

The Teams view is that ongoing projects in both games and films will generate enough revenue to serve as ample reward. Therefore maintaining half the amount of tokens for the Team is fair and proper and their token allocation is now coming down from 13,000,000 to 6,500,000.

Advisor Tokens Slashed by 31%

Hard Burn: 3,250,000 -> 2,250,000

No FEAR Advisors have claimed their tokens yet and have no plans on doing so in the near future. They have agreed to take a haircut of 31% on their advisory tokens. They also agree the success in upcoming projects and their tokens are still more than enough to serve as a substantial reward!

Dev Incentives Slashed by 70%

Hard Burn: 9,750,000 -> 3,000,000

FEAR runs a lean and mean development team and the majority of incentivization occurs outside of the token and will continue to do so going forward. Therefore the team is confident 3,000,000 tokens cover current and future commitments towards expansion!

Ecosystem Incentives Slashed by 45%

Soft Burn: 12,859,500 -> 7,108,700

Ecosystem Incentives will come down given FEAR’s view on running a more sustainable gaming platform with less of a focus on farming type platform mechanisms and more on using incentives to bootstrap entertaining media. The Team feels the Ecosystem Incentives can be slashed by over 45%

The Team retains the option of reintroducing the slashed ecosystem incentives in a newly mintable contract going forward but only as rewards to gamers and film watchers.

Ecosystem Incentives represent the only category where a soft burn will take place.

When and where does the burn take place?

Tokens will be burnt from Team Finance tomorrow and proof will be published in our announcements.

Don’t forget…

This is in addition to our recent announcement of our Great Burning FEAR Node operating monthly to buy and burn FEAR from circulating supply. It’s a script and idea that could plug into our vision of fusing horror films with games. Richard also showed excitement towards teaming up with us and the IHS to create an interactive game version of the film for Web 3. It’s important both the Producer and Director be on board with FEAR’s drive for Web 3 adoption and they clearly are. I can’t wait to bring his nightmare to our Horror Hub and provide our fans with a really shocking experience”.

An Unprecedented Collaboration

Under the seasoned guidance of producer Richard O’Hare at Orillo Films, “Body Worn Video” is set to send shivers down the spines of horror enthusiasts. This unprecedented collaboration brings together the expertise of three powerhouses in the horror industry, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience.

FEAR Cultivating Emerging Talent

The FEAR Horror Incubator aims to cultivate emerging talent within the horror genre, providing a platform for innovative and frightening storytelling for horror fans. “Body Worn Video” serves as a testament to the commitment of the Incubator to nurture the next generation of horror filmmakers.

Utilizing the Independent Horror Society’s active 10,000-member base of film makers and 100k wider network of fans the FEAR Films incubator aims to provide a true decentralised community for funding and providing input on original horror films that have a chance to make it onto the silver screen and become the next “Blair Witch” or “Saw” film.

There is no mistaking the potential of horror films and their ability to turn major profits from small investments. There just lacks a platform that nurtures ideas and turns them into real nightmares. FEAR will be looking into 2024 to bring the next Blair Witch or Saw to the Silver Screen.

Jaw Dropping Potential:

Just a few of the Jaw Dropping High Grossing Horror Films Made on Low Budgets:

Blair Witch (1999): Cost: $35,000 Revenue: $250 million

Open Water (2003): Cost: $120,000 Revenue: $55.5 million

Saw (2004): Cost: $1.2 million Revenue: $104 million

Paranormal Activity (2007): Cost: $15,000 Revenue: $194 million

Insidious (2010): Cost: $1.5 million Revenue: $132 million

The Devil Inside (2012): Cost: $1 million Revenue: $131 million

Unfriended (2014): Cost: $1 million Revenue: $62.9 million

Anabelle (2014): Cost: $6.5 million Revenue: $257.6 million

Get Out (2017): Cost: $4.5 million Revenue: $255 million

Independent Horror Society founder Chris Nials stated:

“This is a momentous occasion for the Independent Horror Society and FEAR Films. I am incredibly proud and excited to finally be able to announce the green light on this production. Getting to work directly with Richard and Orillo is an honour, and ‘Body Worn Video’ marks the start of a busy and exciting 2024 for the IHS and FEAR Films.”

Production for “Body Worn Video” will kick off in early 2024, with a dark, visceral and immersive narrative that horror fans will love! Be sure to stay tuned to the IHS for updates and exclusive news as the film develops.

Horror Hub Series — Part 3— User Journeys

In Part 3 of the Horror Hub series we’re going to look at the features that revolve around User Journeys in the Hub from User Onboarding and Account Management all the way through to the purchasing and gifting content. What you’ll see in this article is an array of features that shield the User from the complexities of Blockchain all the while making their experience as fun and sticky as possible!

For now we are going to focus on the experience of a User in the Mobile Web version of the Horror Hub — the version that will launch first followed a little later by the desktop version, both versions will have feature parity.

User Onboarding

When a User lands on the Horror Hub homepage the first thing they’ll see is Games! They’ll be able to browse content without creating an account , however if they wish to purchase games and other content they’ll need to create one. Creating an account is as simple as logging in with a Google Account. If a Google Account has previously logged into the Hub then the existing account will be surfaced.

As part of the Account creation process a FEAR Wallet based on the Polygon blockchain will be created and automatically linked to the Google Account. The Polygon based FEAR Wallet forms the basis for allowing users to manage their funds and purchase content in the Hub.

Horror Hub Users create an Account by simply Logging in with their Google Account

Browsing Content

The Horror Hub mobile landing page greets users with browsable content from Games to Films & Animations. The Hub will launch with Gaming Content only with Films and Animations to follow later in the year. We’ll be covering launch titles in the next article in this series.

The Landing Page surfacing the creepy Games available to consume in BLOOD — The Horror Hub loves fresh BLOOD!

Each Game on the landing page has an Image, Review Rating (out of five stars) and how much it costs both in USD and BLOOD (some screen grabs are from past iterations of the Hub). Remembering that BLOOD is pegged to 0.01 USD then a title up for sale for lets say 5 USD will display $5 (500 BLOOD).

Clicking on a Game brings the user through to an expanded view of the Game with more images, details and videos provided to the user along with options to buy the game or if purchased provide a review!

Game Reviews

Game reviews can be issued in the Horror Hub only after a purchase has been made. A user is free to update their review anytime they wish — important as the Horror Hub supports game patches and updates so a one star review can easily be turned into a 5 star one (we love comeback stories at FEAR ;-)!).

As we anticipate an influx of gamers into the Hub reviews are going to form an important basis not just in terms of highlighting the best performing FEAR products but also in allowing the project to curate and market the most populate content whilst perhaps discounting under performing content. Most importantly however reviews will help the project address and improve any underperforming content.

We couldn’t help but drop a Sneak Peak of the desktop version of the Horror Hub available for both Windows and MAC!

Content Purchases and Account Management

Balance Management

When a user attempts to purchase a game in the Horror Hub with an underfunded BLOOD Balance they are directed to the Account page where they must first purchase either FEAR or USDT. Either they can deposit these two tokens from an external source (must be a polygon network) or they can purchase either with their credit card in which case the tokens are dropped right into their Horror Hub Account (once Transak has fulfilled the payment).

When a user’s FEAR or USDT balance has been topped up they can choose what portion of it they wish to convert to BLOOD. Remembering the conversion is one way so once BLOOD has been purchased it cannot be redeemed for FEAR or USDT (it’s illiquid!). Converting from FEAR gives you 20% more BLOOD vs USDT so if a user purchases $10 of BLOOD using FEAR they’ll receive 1200 BLOOD vs 1000 when using USDT. You can find a discussion of FEAR and BLOOD in the Horror Hub here.

When a user has enough BLOOD to purchase a game they can then visit the Game page and download it. In this respect we can view the Horror Hub as effectively an app store with FEAR acting as a paywall token. Again for a thorough discussion on the implications of this visit the previous article in the Series — “FEAR and BLOOD”.

A view of the Account screen — MATIC has been swapped for USDT. Note the Top Secret function ;-)

Spreading FEAR, USDT and Donating BLOOD!

What else can a user do in the Account screen? Spread FEAR and Donate BLOOD of course!

Outside of spending on games and other content a user is free to Spread FEAR and Donate Blood. The Horror Hub is a gasless, social market place built on top of Blockchain Technology. Users don’t need to know what’s underneath the hood but it’s key to how we plan on spreading FEAR in the market. Let me explain more…

…currently to buy FEAR or USDT with your credit card involves a minimum spend floor of 30 USD. Until our fiat onramp provider Transak brings this down (and there are plans to do so along with the KYC requirements currently in place) it is prohibitive to the user onboarding experience. Think about it 30 USD is a lot to ask of a first time user in terms of commitment, even with a USDT purchase vs FEAR a retail user may not know what to do with the remaining amount left after spending in the Hub and until our Hub content catches up with our vision the user may have a little while to wait!

So how do we work around this issue for the time being? By offering gasless Spread FEAR and Transfer USDT functions in the Hub. If a gamer loves a game in the Horror Hub but doesn’t want to swallow the whole cost of 30 USD all on his own they can purchase FEAR or USDT then gaslessly spread it to other Horror Hub users allowing everyone they know to grab a game too!

A User friendly way of Spreading FEAR and USDT in the Horror Hub

We wanted to make the experience of spreading FEAR and transferring USDT as error prone and enjoyable as possible. So rather than require users to copy long blockchain wallet addresses, the spreading of FEAR and USDT transfers is done via Horror Hub email lookup instead…

Step one — Enter another Horror Hub user’s email address

Step two — Click a lookup button and if the Hub is able to find another registered user with the email address a transfer be conducted.

The exact same is true for the illiquid BLOOD token. A user can buy all the BLOOD they want and then “donate” it to other Horror Hub users using their email address.

GIFTING CONTENT

One final social sweetener built into the Hub is the gifting of content. Rather than send someone FEAR, USDT or BLOOD, a user can gift a specific game to a hated one (we don’t do love at FEAR not even for holders). Using the gift game feature a user can purchase a game on another user’s behalf and send it to them using their Horror Hub email address. Now it’s possible all of a sudden to buy gifts for special occasions!

All content in the Hub is “giftable” using a users Horror Hub email address

BUYING FEAR and USDT with your CREDIT CARD or BANK ACCOUNT

All FEAR and USDT purchases are carried out on behalf of the Horror Hub by Transak. Transak currently supports over 28 different payment methods in 150+ countries so it’s an ideal fit for the Global reach of the Horror Hub.

Currently there exists two downsides to using Transak as the main means of allowing retail users into the hub…

The minimum spend on FEAR or USDT is 30 USD, a very large amount for the average horror fan. We’ve covered earlier in this article how we plan to make this more palatable along with the fact Transak is actively looking at lowering this minimum spend.

KYC is required even on smaller purchases often requiring ID to be uploaded. This is in part due to the lack of maturity in buying crypto by fiat means. If you think about Playstore or Apple store purchases, uploading an ID would be frowned upon! But hey this is the state of crypto we are currently in until regulation matures. Transak are also looking into removing the KYC barrier for smaller purchases so stay tuned on this one!

Outside of the two above downsides all we can do is make the purchasing of FEAR or USDT as seamless and comfortable as possible and we do this by integrating the Transak widget into the Hub. This means any purchases are dropped right into your Horror Hub account without requiring copy/paste of wallet addresses!

Purchases of FEAR and USDT from Transak go right into a Horror Hub users Account

TRANSACTION TRACKING AND HISTORY

Along with integrating purchasing directly into the Hub we have full FEAR and USDT payment tracking allowing a user to check the status of their token purchases. Transak often takes a few minutes to fulfill orders especially when KYC has yet to be done so surfacing the status of their purchase in the Hub is crucial.

Outside of token purchases the Transaction History tab also surfaces past purchases of Horror Hub content so a user can keep track on…

Token purchases of FEAR and USDT with Transak

Conversion of FEAR and USDT to BLOOD

Spreading of FEAR and USDT to other Horror Hub Users

Donating of Blood to other Horror Hub Users

Content purchases in the Hub

Gifting of content in the Hub

Transfers in and out of the Hub

As you can see there is a lot going on here and it all can be found in the Transaction History tab!

WRAPPING THINGS UP LIKE A MUMMIFIED CORPSE

We’ve gone through a veritable Bloody Feast of User Journeys and Hub features that together bring a real seamless Horror Hub experience to Horror Fans. All interactions with the Hub require no blockchain experience and cost nothing to a User.

Games and other content can be Purchased, Downloaded, Reviewed and Gifted to other Horror Hub users using nothing more than their email address.

Balances in FEAR, USDT and BLOOD can be managed and tracked for internal payment sources such as Transak and external transfers from outside the Hub. All three tokens can be gifted to other Hub users allowing the spreading of FEAR to users outside the crypto verse!

Full Transaction History is offered inside the Hub allowing users to keep track of their Tokens, Game purchases and Transfers in and out of the Hub.

Building something as seamless as the Hub is no easy feat but it’s necessary in order for the FEAR project to capture the retail crowd into its spider web of Horror!

Next Article

In the next article of the series we’ll be covering the Launch Titles that will be released alongside The Hub along with some of the Marketing Strategies the FEAR team has in place. #wenmarketing — Don’t get your Wet pants in a twist the Hub is a grassroots initiative and we won’t be sacrificing precious BLOOD on Hype and PR!

< Prev — Part 2— FEAR & BLOOD

Part 4— Launch Titles — WYUN+G — Next >

We’ve been running for almost two years now as a project and as we begin to push out products and await the launch of our platform’s centerpiece - “The Horror Hub” its time to take stock of our token supply, where it all is and what plans we have for it!

Burn them and Lock the rest up!

First of all the elephant in the room, 45,812,000.00 in team finance under the project’s control, the majority of which was unlocked until two days ago. This needed to be addressed and so we’ve done it. We are happy to announce the following adjustments…

4% of Total Supply Burnt

2,600,000 (4% of total supply) Tokens unlocking in 57 days time have been burnt!

To verify please visit…

https://etherscan.io/address/0xc77aab3c6d7dab46248f3cc3033c856171878bd5#readContract

Call the getDepositDetails passing in ID 989

Verify our tokenAddress matches the ETH one at fear.io/token.html

Verify the withdrawal address is linked to a ERC1155 contract and not a wallet address (its impossible for this address to be used as a wallet to call and sign transactions with the Team Finance withdrawal method on their contract)…

Here is the withdrawal address and contract deployed to it

https://etherscan.io/address/0x8d453bA8C6B16413F888A30699458001Ee8dd7AE#code

Tokens cannot be withdrawn and are burnt forever!

60.6% of Total Supply Locked up

36,289,500 (55.8%) total supply now locked until 1st Feb 2025

3,120,000 (4.8%) total supply now locked until 1st Feb 2024

3,802,500 (5.85%) total supply remains unlocked (along with approx 1 million outside of Team Finance under the projects control) to fulfill the following “possible” commitments. We say possible because these tokens will only be used where they benefit the project in terms of expansion be it new exchange listings, staking rewards, marketing or rewards. Given our Bitepaper’s business model for our platform we don’t anticipate using a large majority of the unlocked tokens but it’s good to have some on hand.

Exchange listings — 1,000,000

The Crypt Staking — Long Term Rewards — 1,000,000 (assuming a 5,000,000 FEAR staked over two years)

Marketing — 250,000

Ecosystem — 250,000

Dev Incentives — 250,000

Remaining SEED/Private allocation yet to be claimed — 2,000,000

TOKEN FUTURE PLANS

What are our plans for the tokens unlocking in 2024 and 2025? The majority of these tokens remain unlocked unless we want to incentivise long term partnerships to expand our project or we have large exchange listings. So again the next time we come to unlocking time we’ll provide an update on relocking and future plans.

FEAR aims to be fully funded outside of token sales and they are currently not required to sustain the project. We believe in our Bitepaper business model and the revenue generating opportunities it will bring along with the Horror Hub.

The Tomb finally opens next Tuesday and we couldn’t be more freaked out about it over at FEAR HQ. “The Tomb” follows the opening of “The Crypt” a few months ago which already has close to 1 million FEAR staked inside it. In this article we’re going to drill down (no pun intended) into what The Tomb is and why you may want to consider locking your FEAR away inside it.

First of all let’s look at what the definition of a “Tomb” is…

a large vault, typically an underground one, for burying the dead

A somewhat ominous definition for a staking farm I hear you say! We are certainly not suggesting your FEAR tokens are dead and therefore you best bury them away like a freshly perished corpse.

When we step back and think about a Tomb — yes dead bodies are buried inside but often they are buried alongside treasure and one day many FEAR moons later when that treasure is finally discovered it’s worth a small fortune! Now we certainly don’t advocate for price speculation as a project — we are simply providing a more positive light on what a Tomb is 😃

What is the Tomb

Jokes aside, “The Tomb” is a very long term staking farm designed for FEAR holders with a very long term view of the project. Many long term holders in Crypto often wish to put their tokens out of harm’s way and far removed from the temptation of trading. The Tomb is somewhere you can lock your tokens, forget about them and come back later on knowing they are being put to work rather than sitting idly inside your wallet.

Locking Periods

The Tomb comes with four long term locking periods for your FEAR which are detailed below. The periods have been specifically chosen by the project based on how much time we think we need to execute our long term vision with the minimum period being two years and the maximum being five years, the longer the lock the higher the APR in FEAR. Let’s take a look at the four different periods below…

Caps and Limits

For each locking time frame there is a cap per wallet (in order to encourage participation from as many different FEAR holders as possible) and a Tomb Limit — meaning the amount of FEAR that can be staked for a Tomb across all holders (the APR offered here is generous and our token isn’t unlimited in supply!). Once either a cap has been hit on a wallet or a Tomb no more staking will be available to a FEAR holder.

Looting your Tomb

The Tomb is designed for FEAR Diamond Hands. Let’s have some fun however and imagine a scenario where you desperately need your beloved FEAR tokens out — your only option is to Loot the Tomb!

Looting the Tomb allows you to instantly release your FEAR from its locking period no matter how long the FEAR has been locked up for. There are two penalties for Looting however. First — you will lose any rewards you may have accrued up to the point of Looting and second you will need to pay a 25% fee on your FEAR. Where does the FEAR fee go? Like all fees on our platform it flows straight to the FEAR fees wallet which are annually distributed to stakers, project funding and token burns!

Unlocking your FEAR and Claiming your Rewards

Unlocking takes place at the end of the period for the Tomb you staked for. When the lock period is reached all your original principal will be made available to Unstake. Rewards accrued for the locking period are NOT paid out all in one go, they’ll be vested over a six month period. Let’s take a simple example to outline the process…

I stake 50K in the Mummy tomb

After 2 years I can Unstake my 50k and…

20k rewards will now be released over a six month period

The total period for claiming back principal and rewards is 2.5 years

This rewards vesting period is the same for all Tombs (six months)

Wrapping things up Like a Mummified Corpse

The tomb is a very long term staking farm designed to reward long term FEAR holders who are happy to lock up their FEAR for many moons and be rewarded handsomely for it. Limits exist on each Tomb and there is a mechanism for a quick release of FEAR with penalty clauses built in.
