Introduction

Indian Bank is an Indian state-owned financial services company established in 1907 whereas Allahabad Bank was a nationalized bank with its headquarters in Kolkata, India. Until its merger with the Indian Bank, it was the oldest joint stock bank in India. On March 28, 2020, the Allahabad bank was merged with Indian bank but many of their digital platforms are not updated as one. As an aspiring UX/UI Designer and a customer of Indian-Allahabad Bank, I felt that they have a very outdated designed website as well as the app. So I tried to redesign their app as well as their logo.

Source: Dribble

Problem Statement

Logo

I started with a logo redesign. The logo which I designed you can see below. My idea was to show Indian Bank & Allahabad Bank in one logo whereas till now their logo and symbol are used separately. So I had taken some idea by seeing both their logos and combined them into one.

Old Logo

New Logo

I think the new logo style is better from the old one as it is modern and minimal. Also looks mature enough to represent the bank on the international or national platforms because not only the company services reflect their market value but branding is the first most important thing for a company for their good impression in the market.

Splash Screen

I think splash screens thing can be easily understood, there is no need to stretch it out as you can see the old one is so much clumsy whereas the new one looks organized.

Source: INDOASIS App

Registration/Login Screen

First thing I noticed in registration was the customer can only register through CIF Number which I found a very old way that this Bank App was using. Today most of the banks have shifted to instant registration with the help of mobile number and if somebody does not have the mobile number he/she can register it through bank account number. So the same way I did. Also, I redesigned the screens and given an option for already registered customers which they can click and a login screen will pop up to directly jump in.

Source: INDOASIS App

On boarding Screen

The main work which I did you can see in my project was to change the on-boarding screen experience for the users. The old screen which I noticed is updated. I studied screens of various companies like Cred, Paytm, Google Pay, ICICI Bank etc. Took some inspirations from Behance & Dribble off course and then started designing keeping in mind the top services/option used by users in a mobile banking app.

Call Button/Customer Care

Check Balance

Locate Nearest Branch/ATM

Source: INDOASIS App

Less used services I have placed down and the user can also directly search it in the search section of the app. So he/she will not need to put the screen close to his/her eyes and hunt out for the service they need to go with.

Pain Points

Design is not user friendly.

Outdated registration process.

The app only allows users to work with mobile data.

Thank You for checking out my case study. Hasta La Vista !
