Whether it’s malicious software tampering or data theft at the software level, or unauthorized access or tampering from system-level rooting, TEE cannot be read or tampered with. The TEE core provides basic capabilities such as process, memory, and hardware resource management, ensuring the isolation of basic hardware resources (CPU, memory, peripherals). Application-layer data access efficiency is not affected, with TEE intervening only when sensitive data is involved for confirmation, verification, updates, etc. Combined with the full lifecycle protection of digital identity credentials, including binding, expiration, updates, and revocation processes, the WTEE protocol not only safeguards user data privacy but also provides high-level protection for user operations, preventing unauthorized access and tampering.</p><h3>Hardware Wallets and Cold Wallet Solutions: Physical Security Protection for User DIDs</h3><p>WebKey not only provides robust security features at the software level but also offers physical security protection for users’ decentralized identities (DIDs) through hardware wallets and cold wallet solutions. The hardware wallet is integrated into the device, providing highly secure storage and management for users’ encrypted assets and private keys. This hardware-level isolation measure makes WebKey a sturdy safe deposit box for user identities and assets, ensuring that all user operations in the Web3 world are protected.</p><p>Through measures such as pre-installed application audits, application signatures, and application and process isolation, WebKey phones, under the dual protection of hardware and software, can securely generate keys, import and export asymmetric keys (without key wrapping), import raw symmetric keys (without key wrapping), asymmetric encryption and decryption using appropriate padding modes, asymmetric signing and verification using digests and appropriate padding modes, symmetric encryption and decryption in suitable modes (including AEAD mode), and generating and verifying symmetric message authentication codes in key steps of encryption and decryption, comprehensively achieving end-to-end security from key generation, import/export, encryption/decryption, to signature verification. Coupled with hardware’s physical isolation, it becomes an impregnable safe deposit box for user data, identity, and assets. These encryption and decryption methods in key steps not only enhance the confidentiality of user data but also provide multi-layer security for user identities and assets.</p><h3>The Secure Data Foundation enables WebKey to create an expansive application ecosystem</h3><p>With a solid foundation in data security, WebKey opens up possibilities for building a broad application ecosystem. It’s a pleasure to be here. I’m Yaniv Proselkov, the new Chief Scientific Officer at WebKey. I did my PhD in Engineering, specialising in the field of complexity science, in the Supply Chain AI Lab within the University of Cambridge. For those who know what it means, I matriculated at Christ’s College. My research focuses on the behavior of distributed, decentralized computing assets using collaborative network AI, specifically to find how systems can remain effective while minimising the information given to its constituent agents. I’ve spent much of my career researching AI applications in distributed systems, always with a foot in Blockchain and Web3, now building innovations within that space. I’ve also collaborated with major companies like BT, exploring how to revolutionise British telecoms infrastructure to make it fast and secure enough to run autonomously. Joining WebKey feels like the perfect next step — what they’re doing, developing decentralised ecosystems, presents such amazing opportunities for communications — I’m glad for the opportunity.</p><h3><strong>Q: That’s impressive. What drew you to WebKey? What aspect of the project convinced you to join the team?</strong></h3><p><strong>A:</strong> What really attracted me to WebKey was its holistic approach to integrating AI with decentralized infrastructure. The project’s commitment to data security and privacy, combined with its ambition to make AI an integral part of the Web3 experience, is incredibly compelling. WebKey isn’t just building yet another blockchain product; it’s about giving a way for anyone to engage in the Web3 ecosystem by creating a secure, intelligent gateway to the decentralized world. They have a vision that captured me with the chance to enable the next generation of computation, and in a way to protect it’s users..</p><h3><strong>Q: DePIN is a hot topic right now. What sets WebKey apart from other projects in this space?</strong></h3><p><strong>A:</strong> WebKey stands out due to its focus on trustworthy hardware and environmental isolation. By closing the physical device, they can achieve, data security from the ground up that’s simply unattainable otherwise. While many DePIN projects focus solely on decentralized infrastructure, WebKey uses intelligent and learning models to support user interaction and service delivery. From my work with NG-CDI, I’ve seen first hand the need for smart, dynamic human/device interaction. Webkey’s dual emphasis on security and intelligent automation creates something both reliable and user friendly, solving the two core problems of any network system — safety and service.</p><h3><strong>Q: That’s ambitious. How do you envision AI evolving within blockchain, and how will it differ from existing technologies like Siri or Alexa?</strong></h3><p><strong>A:</strong> AI within blockchain, especially in the context of WebKey, will be fundamentally different from current mainstream technologies like Siri or Alexa. These existing AI platforms are centralized, collecting vast amounts of user data, often at the expense of privacy. In contrast, WebKey’s AI will operate within a decentralized framework, ensuring data ownership and privacy through technologies like zero-knowledge proofs and trusted execution environments. The goal is to create AI services that are not only intelligent but also respectful of user sovereignty, making them more secure and personalized. I can talk more at length about the important difference in structural safety between centralised and decentralised intelligence — I was even discussing it over a lovely garden party in King’s college, but I’ll stick with my brief answer.</p><h3><strong>Q: In Web3, we often talk about mass adoption, yet the growth hasn’t met our expectations. What do you think is the main obstacle, and how will WebKey overcome it?</strong></h3><p><strong>A:</strong> The biggest challenge to mass adoption in Web3 is usability. The work for the average person to do anything they feel safe enough to do is still so high. WebKey aims to bridge this gap by providing a seamless, secure, and intelligent user experience. With a native environment, AI models to simplify and automate much of a user’s work, WebKey is looking to make everything simpler, and users get to control their data.</p><p>WebKey can lower the barriers to entry. Our approach to blending AI with a decentralized framework is designed to make Web3 more accessible and appealing to the masses.</p><ul><li><strong>Q: When it comes to Web3 projects, one of the most critical aspects is the economic system. As a foundational ecosystem project, how does WebKey design its token system to ensure utility on its own and across all associated projects?</strong></li></ul><p><strong>A:</strong> WebKey’s token economy is carefully designed to drive utility and sustainability across its ecosystem. With a total supply of 210 million tokens called KEY, we’ll allocate them to support both immediate needs and long-term growth. By rewarding node operators and tying 40% of the tokens to community engagement and device interactions, we ensure that KEY not only powers the WebKey platform but also fosters collaboration across associated projects.</p><p>As the project progresses, our token will serve multiple functions within the ecosystem.
