Get ready for the fourth annual NextStep Hackathon! Happening from August 2nd to 4th, this weekend-long event provides you with the perfect opportunity to infuse a futuristic flair into everyday life. This year's theme: Code4Good, is a tribute to the small businesses and foundations in local communities that help shape the experiences and lifestyles of people living there. The theme tasks students to develop novel solutions that help solve a problem that someone or a specific business, entity, or department in their community is facing using technology.
HackAlphaX, the driving force behind NextStep Hacks, was founded by visionary students with a shared commitment to empower the next generation in all STEM fields. Over the past four years, we've hosted numerous impactful events, positively impacting over 1,750 students along the way. As you join us for this weekend's festivities, brace yourself for a series of exciting activities, including enlightening workshops, thrilling raffles, invaluable mentor sessions, and fantastic giveaways! Your presence enriches our community, and we extend our warmest welcome to NextStep Hacks 2024. Together, let's embark on a journey of innovation and transformation.
Note: This is a student-run hackathon by high schoolers.

Theme Statement
Our communities are surrounded by small businesses and organizations that help uplift and enhance the environment we are in. Yet many small business owners and community organizations, regardless of the industry they are a part of, face many challenges. These challenges range anywhere from not having a sustainable website that helps them manage their operations, to looking for new software to simplify their day-to-day procedures. This year's theme, Code4Good, challenges participants to think critically about specific problems that someone in their community or a small business is facing and masterfully develops a solution that targets that issue. We encourage participants to reach out to the business after the hackathon period to provide them with your solution. Not only are you gaining invaluable coding experience, but also helping the community around you for the better.
Submission
All submissions are required to have:
- A video demonstration / pitch no longer than 5 minutes.
- A link to the repository or code for viewing.
- A link (if applicable) to the live website or application.
- We do allow you to submit your project to other hackathons (this weekend only) as long as the other hackathon also allows this.
- If you're continuing work on an old project, you MUST specify in your Devpost what was worked on 1) before the hackathon and 2) during the hackathon.
