What We Do
The Northern Colorado Climber’s Coalition (NCCC) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to preserving climbing areas and fostering strong community awareness through education and activism. We recognize that to access Front Range climbing areas is a privilege and that it comes with the obligation to act as stewards of the lands we use to preserve their natural beauty for future generations. To accomplish our goals, we promote positive resource stewardship through regular public service projects at local climbing areas, in addition to a variety of community-building educational programs.

Located northwest of Fort Collins, CO, the Poudre Canyon is home to some of the highest quality sport climbing and bouldering in Colorado. Long considered an area only frequented by locals who didn’t want to drive to ‘better climbing’ elsewhere in the state, author Bennett Scott and many others have spent the last several decades putting that myth to rest with the development and documentation of some of the hardest, proudest, cleanest, and most inspiring lines to be found anywhere in Colorado.
Ten years have passed since the 2nd Edition of the Poudre Canyon Guidebook was released and things have been anything but quiet. New routes and boulder problems have been established on a weekly basis – the climbing here just keeps getting better and better. Perhaps you live in Fort Collins and just want to get out for a pleasant day of shady bouldering. Or maybe you’re looking to explore something new with a weekend of beautiful camping, cragging, and bouldering. The Poudre has something to offer everyone, so come join author Bennett Scott as he takes you on a journey through 50 miles of breathtaking cliffs and boulders that are climbable all year long!
Considered by many to be the home of modern American bouldering, Horsetooth Reservoir, just minutes from downtown Fort Collins, offers hundreds of excellent routes and boulder problems of all grades and styles. In addition to their national historical significance, these immaculate sandstone cliffs and boulders that overlook Horsetooth Reservoir give climbers easy access to some of the finest lines in the area. From toproping at Duncan’s Ridge and the Torture Chamber, to the tall and heady John Gill boulder problems in Rotary Park, Horsetooth has something to challenge and reward everyone.
2nd Edition Released Feb 2013. This new addition includes all the current routes established under the Fixed Anchor Intiative. This process is open to the public and anyone is encouraged to submit and develop their own routes.
Nestled among the tall pine trees of Lory State Park, the Arthur’s Rock area offers a plethora of excellent granite bouldering. Although only a stone’s throw from Fort Collins, Arthur’s Rock has remained a low-key area since it’s initial development around 2000 and is one of the best hidden gems around. With well over 100 problems scattered throughout the peaceful forest overlooking Horsetooth Reservoir, Arthur’s Rock is well-worth a visit.
