MODX powers millions of websites around the world. Our primary goal is to develop and support MODX CMS, a fast, secure, flexible, and scalable open-source PHP website platform with both unprecedented creative freedom and an equally awesome Community. 

If you run a business or organization that uses MODX in a revenue-generating product, are a digital agency that works on MODX websites, are a freelancer and MODX has helped you in your work, or are a person just using it in a fun project, your contributions will help to make MODX better.

MODX’s allows site builders to create virtually any type of website, using any markup or technique, with hundreds of flexible Extras to help you get started. 

Whether you want to use the latest Bootstrap, quickly convert a theme from another CMS, code a custom ultra-light design library powered by a front-end drag-and-drop site builder, or even output something else entirely like an XML feed, MODX is ready and able to do so today, including creating a bespoke back-end Manager to go with your sites. 

You gain all the advantages of having a custom CMS, without having to maintain and pay for a custom CMS. And the MODX CMS security track record speaks for itself.

Your support will help MODX's maintainers manage a project used by millions of websites. Specifically, your contributions will be used to:
  • Pay the security team for reviewing security reports and resolving vulnerabilities
  • Pay volunteer core integrators and developers for work on MODX
  • Sponsor MODX events
  • Offer bounties for specific issues or features
  • Commission larger MODX projects

All expenses are publicly visible on this page. 10% of all funds raised go directly to the Open Collective to support the legal, accounting, compliance, and payment processing, with an additional ~3% going to merchant fees.
