About

Hi, I’m Roseanna, a London-based reviewer mainly interested in scifi and fantasy, but occasionally prone to dabble in historical and mythological fiction. I’m currently an editor at 2023 Ignyte award-winning and 2024 Hugo winning fanzine nerds of a feather, flock together. I also have a monthly column at the Ancillary Review of Books, where I talk about small press novellas, along with the occasional other review. I am also nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer in 2025.

When not reading, I can be found video gaming, board gaming, collecting too many crafting hobbies or attempting to learn how to fight with a longsword.

My tastes across my time reviewing on this here blog have changed somewhat, as has my approach to writing about what I’ve read, but at present, I am particularly interested in weird shit, books with strong character arcs and perspectives, stories that mess around with what genre can be, and those with a very prose-forward approach. I am also continually drawn back to myth-retellings, even though they frequently annoy me.

If you like what you see here, please do follow me on bluesky for more unformed book ramblings, cat pictures, rugby shouting and more.
