“Keeper…isn’t that the game with a lighthouse?” you ask. Oh, yes, it is, and it’s so much more. See here on Virtual Bastion for my review.
My Nintendo Year in Review (2025)
Last but not least with the yearly wrap-ups is Nintendo. My ye olde Switch is still alive and kicking, and it joins me on my train commutes on a mostly regular basis. Despite the Switch 2 release hype last year, I’ve not felt the need to upgrade. As long as my Switch (1) works, and as long as Nintendo supports it, it’ll remain my mobile gaming platform of choice. There are plenty of games for it, and I have my own small backlog of games within it. My 2025 with the device consisted both of pulling from that backlog (at least a little), along with playing new (to me) games. Here’s the “official” rundown of how the year went!

My Xbox Year in Review (2025)
Considering the year Xbox just had, it wasn’t too surprising to discover that they opted to skip handing down yearly stats. (Its track record for such has been extremely sporadic anyway.) As such, I figured I’d skip doing a post about my 2025 on the console, too. Only then I found that Xbox does keep track of one’s play history — had no idea until I started looking for such — and it occurred to me that I could manually extract a decent rundown of what my year looked like. So, thanks to wonky phone pics and my collection of screenshots, this is my 2025 on the Xbox.

I play a lot of great games during 2025, but nothing quite hit the same heights as Herdling. It’s an indie gem that’s proof positive of the saying “the best thing come in small packages.”
