Graduate Software Engineer

I'm a final-year Computer Science student at the University of Pretoria who thrives at the intersection of technical execution and team leadership. What sets me apart is my proven ability to lead both on and off the field. Having gained experience as the Deputy Head Boy at Pretoria Boys High School and an U21 National Hockey player, I've developed the discipline, strategic thinking, and communication skills that translate directly into effective project management and software development.

My journey into tech has been hands-on and collaborative. I've project-managed teams of up to 12 people, building everything from ground-up databases to mobile apps for financial inclusion. I don't just write code, I have learnt to architect solutions, manage sprints, and ensure teams deliver quality products on time. Though my tertiary education I have learnt to implement complex integrations across daemon, API, CLI, and frontend systems, and applying software design patterns to simulate entire cities in C++, I approach every challenge with the same mindset: understand the problem deeply, break it down strategically, and execute.

I'm seeking an entry-level role where I can leverage my technical skills (Java, C++, JavaScript, React Native, Node.js) alongside my project management experience. I'm particularly drawn to scrum master and software development positions where I can contribute to a dynamic team while continuing to grow. My background coaching young athletes has taught me that great teams aren't just about individual talent, they're about clear communication, trust, and a shared vision.
