Common Questions
How do I know you're not collecting data?
Every app is open source on GitHub. Zero network calls. Zero analytics. Audit the code yourself — that's the point.
Do these work on the latest macOS?
Yes. SaneApps are actively maintained and tested on macOS Tahoe. We don't abandon software — that's the whole model.
Can I build from source?
Absolutely. Clone the repo, open in Xcode, build. MIT licensed, always will be. The download option is for convenience and to support development.
Who's behind this?
One indie developer. No VC funding. No board of directors. No acquisition plans. Just software that works because someone cares enough to maintain it.
Open Source ≠ Free
"Free" software usually means one of two things: the developer burns out and quits, or your data is the product. Neither is sustainable.
Open source tools die every year because there's no model to keep them alive. The developer can't afford hosting, can't afford an Apple Developer account, can't afford to keep fixing things. So they stop. And you're left with abandoned software that breaks on the next macOS update.
SaneApps are different: open source AND sustainable.
"The worker is worthy of his wages." — 1 Timothy 5:18
