Once you register for the event, we will send a follow-up email with details for the event including a Zoom link to the kick-off call on Friday, June 3rd. All communication during the event will take place on our Discord server and live events such as speaker series will take place over Zoom. 

Requirements

What to Build

Build a solution to any problem in your community or the world at large. This can be in the form of a mobile app, website, game, etc. Take a look at previous winners of the event: https://www.schoolhacks.org/winners

Who can Participate 

Any student (ages 10-18) from anywhere can participate in the event. No programming experience is needed to participate and several prizes don't even require any code to win. You are all ready and we will have individuals available to help during the event. You can work on your project individually or in a team. We will help with facilitating team forming during the beginning of the event.

What to Submit

Submissions will be in the form of a 2-3 minute video demo judged by a panel of experienced founders/venture capitalists. Winners will be announced during a closing ceremony over Zoom.

Judging Criteria

  • Problem
    How clearly defined is your problem? Do you identify clear user needs?
  • Originality
    How is your project unique? How does your project add to solutions that exist today?
  • Solution
    How effectively does your solution address your problem? Has your solution been iterated upon throughout the weekend? How innovative or creative is your solution?
  • Presentation
    Did you put thought into the user experience? Do you give an engaging, exciting, and compelling presentation? Is your presentation organized and easy to follow?
  • Technicality
    Were there technical challenges you overcame? How did you grow throughout the project?
