A guide

I posted this write-up on my guilds forums, and then in response to someone’s request for advice on the official forums. I think there are 3 players who have stuck with their SW in my guild, and they’re both scout, so this applied to them as much as directions on how to knit would. On the forums, a mod gave me the perverbial “good game” ass-slap, so I figured I’d fianlly put this up for all the world to see. After all, this is a Shadow Warrior-centric site, right? In any matter, I hope that if there are any Shadow Warriors who come through here, looking for general advice on how to play as what I think is the most fun style in the game, that this little diatribe of mine will help shed some understanding on how we work.

I’m feeling an itch. It’s an odd itch. I’m starting to think back as my time as a
I’m trying not to be insanely jealous. Really, I am. Mythic is making it more and more difficult as time goes by though. First I see Engineers getting nothing but mad-love, and everyone and their sister squabbling for lack of them. They want magnet pullers, and crazy AoE grenades. Visions of Napalm flash in their eyes. Now Bright Wizards are fuckin’ ridonculous. We had a group in one warband of five Bright Wizards and one Warrior Preist. They wrecked house, and not only melted faces, but the bone beneath the face as well. I saw puddles of destruction players evaporate into the air it was so god-damn hot in there. I can live with this, I’ll be unhappy, but I can live with it. So, maybe I’m lowest on the totem-pole of ranged damage classes, well, at least I can compete with Witch Hunters… oh wait.
Oh how I wish people did. I don’t particularly see us as a feared class. I don’t recall anyone bemoaning the kill-power of the Shadow Warriors when I played on the side of Destruction. I also don’t see us WTF-PWNing enemies all of the time. I do see us falling pretty quickly, but is that just my own view of things? Is the reason for the small amount of changes to our class in the 1.2 patch notes because we are already are considered to be a well balanced class?
Shadow Warriors are squishy.
So, I know from my start as a Shadow Warrior that I rolled this class because I wanted to be a ranged damage class (RDPS). I remember vividly from the production videos that this was to be a class that was all about the bow. Paul Barnett standing in front of the camera going “Bow, bow, bow!”.
