About the challenge

Sustain-A-Thon 2025 is a 24-hour, national hackathon by the Infusion Student Club, SSCSE (Sharda University) to build tech that powers the Innovate to Empower Viksit Bharat 2047 Mission.
Bring a team of 2 or more (maximum 5 in team) and prototype a solution in one of our 7 SIH-aligned themes:

  1. Clean & Green Technology 2) Renewable/Sustainable Energy 3) AI & ML for Public Good

  2. Digital Health & Mental Well-being 5) Cyber-security & Digital Trust

  3. Agri/Food-Tech & Rural Development 7) Climate Resilience & Disaster Management

Why join? Mentorship from industry experts, internships & incubation opportunities, and upto ₹3,00,000 prize pool (Top Prize upto ₹1,00,000). No registration fee.

Finale: On-campus, 3–4 Oct 2025, Sharda University, Greater Noida (continuous 24 hours).

Get started

  1. Form a team of 2 (minimum and 5 maximum)(UG/PG/PhD; multidisciplinary encouraged).

  2. Pick a theme and a real problem to solve (localize to your state/city if you can).

  3. Submit your idea by 30 Aug 2025 via the registration form (link in site header).

  4. Online technical screening on 15–16 Sep 2025 (shortlist announced on email).

  5. Grand Finale (in person): 3 Oct, 10:00 AM → 4 Oct, 10:00 AM. Bring laptops, chargers, adapters, and a valid ID.

  6. Join our official communications (email/WhatsApp) after registration for updates, mentor slots and logistics.

Requirements

What to Build

A working MVP/prototype created during the hackathon that:

  • Addresses one of the 7 themes with measurable user/SDG impact.

  • Is technically sound (clear architecture, clean repo, reproducible steps).

  • Can be demoed live (web/app/bot/ML model/IoT/embedded/hardware mock).

  • Uses legal datasets/APIs; if using generative AI or third-party models, disclose them.

What to Submit

Upload on the hackathon portal before the finale deadline:

  • Project title & 1-line pitch (≤120 chars).

  • 2–3 min demo video (YouTube/Vimeo link; screen-record + voiceover; show the working demo).

  • GitHub/Repo link (code committed during hack; README with setup steps).

  • Pitch deck (≤5 slides): problem, solution, architecture, impact, next steps.

  • Impact note (≤1 page): which SDGs/beneficiaries, how you will measure impact.

  • (Hardware/IoT) Bill of Materials + safety notes.

  • (If applicable) Test credentials / deployed URL.

    Addresses a real need with clear beneficiaries; aligns with SDGs and the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission; defines measurable KPIs; practical to deploy and scale in India with ethical, safe use of data/AI.
  • Technical Depth & Execution (35%)
    Solid architecture and clean code; correct use of data/APIs/models with licenses; reliable, performant, and reproducible; includes a working end-to-end demo that shows core features clearly.
  • Innovation, UX & Presentation (25%)
    Original approach and creativity; user-centric, accessible UX and intuitive UI; clear narrative—problem → solution → impact; 2–3 min demo video and deck communicate value crisply.
