The mission of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki is to advance high-quality research and provide research-based education in medicine and dentistry. The Faculty trains physicians, dentists, psychologists, speech therapists, and experts in translational medicine at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
HiLIFE – Helsinki Institute of Life Science supports high-quality life science research across the University of Helsinki. By strengthening existing expertise and building new partnerships, HiLIFE fosters an international research environment addressing major challenges in health, food, and the environment.
HUS – Helsinki University Hospital provides specialized medical care grounded in high-level clinical and translational research. Formed by 24 municipalities, HUS aims to ensure patients across the region have timely, equal, and high-quality access to advanced specialized healthcare services.

Bridging Academia and Entrepreneurship
Terkko Health Hub is Finland’s largest health and life science hub, bringing together startups, researchers, students, corporates, the University of Helsinki’s entrepreneurship society Helsinki Think Company, and Health Incubator Helsinki, a three-year incubator by the City of Helsinki.
Located at the heart of Helsinki’s medical campus, Terkko sits alongside HUS – Helsinki University Hospital, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki, and HiLIFE – Helsinki Institute of Life Science — enabling close collaboration between research, care, and innovation.
