I got busy, and didn't write about something I'm beyond excited about! Some friends and I started a Game Company. Primarily Role Playing Games. We are planning a few card and board games as well.

We called ourselves, Even Footing Games.

It's like Vampire and 5e had a lovechild.

 

I've been working on a game system since April or so with a team of volunteers on a game with Mark Rein-Hagen. Yeah. The Ars Magica and Vampire the Masquerade guy.

Since I now have my 8th Edition hardcover in hand, I'm going to start going through it and posting my thoughts on this new version of 40K. What I like, what I don't, and what I just find interesting.

What The... 8th Edition 40K Is Actually... Good?

Ok, my head is officially spinning.

If you've spent ANY time on this blog, you've seen me constantly comparing 40K to Flames of War, as I used to consider the latter to be the gold standard for a well-designed, clearly written ruleset. While I considered 40K (especially the 6th and 7th Editions) to be the opposite.

But then Battlefront, a few months ago, completely crapped the bed with the 4th Edition of Flames, which I now consider to be all but unplayable. While Games Workshop seems to have completely redesigned 40K into an intelligently streamlined game that's actually a lot of fun to play!

3D Printing: Building A Better Miniature Base

Games Workshop bases. For better or worse, we're all used to them (or their many copy-cats). But while assembling my large order from Anvil Industry to make a copyright-legal army for WarStrike,   I had to decide what kind of bases to use for the figures that didn't come with any.

And since I've got a nice 3D resin printer... Well, I think I've come up with something much better than the norm.
