Every time I come home from work, I ask my dog how his day went.  He always says, "Rough!"

Louisiana Highway Department employees stopped at a farm and talkedwith an old farmer. The man in charge told the farmer, 'We need to inspectyour farm for a possible new road.'

The old farmer said, 'OK, but don't get out in that pasture over there.'

The Highway Dept. employee flashed out his identification card andsaid, 'I have the authority of the State of Louisiana to go anywhere I want.See this card? I will go wherever I wish.'

So the old farmer went about his chores.It wasn't too much later when the farmer heard loud screams and yelling.
He looked over and saw several Highway Department employees running for their lives and right behind was the farmer's huge prize bull. The bull was madder than a hornet's nest and was gaining on the Highway employees at every step.

A fundraising campaign was started to build a new assembly.

All of a sudden, one of the brothers died. The remaining brother sought out the new pastor the day before the funeral and handed him a check for the amount needed to finish paying for the new building.

"I have only one condition," he said. "At his funeral, you must say my brother was a saint."

The pastor gave his word and deposited the check.
The next day at the funeral, the pastor did not hold back. "He was an evil man," he said. "He cheated on his wife and abused his family." After going on in this vein for a small time, he concluded with, "But, compared to his brother, he was a saint."

Transmission

 I am having some transmission issues. Got a couple of codes, some shuddering issues. 

First step for me was to get a trans fluid filter replacement and fluid refill at my oil change place. I figger what the heck, can't hurt, maybe it will help.

I am thinking dirty fluid could cause the problems I am having.

Except they do not do that. Can't afford to stock all the filters they said.

Wait a couple of weeks. Today I called 2 trans repair shops and asked for a quote on a transmission fluid flush with filter replacement. Neither shop will do that. Drain and fill only.

I called a garage and they basically said I was stupid. Not in so many words. He said you do that and you will burn out your transmission, guaranteed. He also said no need to replace the filter, the flush will clean the filter.

So looks like I will have to diy a fluid/filter replacement. I am SO looking forward to laying on that cold hard concrete.

What are your thoughts on this subject???

Ibuprofen is my Friend.

 Yesterday I went crazy. I actually did some work.

Changed the oil in my grandson's truck. He is transferring to germany soon and brought it home to keep here while he is there.

Anyway. I don't have a lift to raise it up or a pit to walk under it. What I do have is a pretty good floor jack. So I raised it up and crawled under it. On the cold hard concrete.

Been tossin and turnin all night,  my lower spine is killing me. Finally gave up the ghost and took 4 ibuprofen about 30 minutes ago, around 4:30 AM.

It seems to be easing up a little.

I decided to do it myself because it costs up to $80 to let someone else change it for you. That's worth it. Except I'm trying to cut my expenses down some. Prices on groceries and gas are sky high here and not looking to come down soon.

I bought valvoline restore and protect 5w-30 oil in a 5 quart bottle. Cost $38.99 for the jug. Now get this. Same oil in a 1 quart bottle is $11.99 per quart. 5 quarts of that is $60. 

I have a bunch of oil filters for the truck already, so I didn't have to put out for that this time.

I have watched videos about this particular valvoline oil. They all have good things to say about it, so I am giving it a shot.

What oil do you guys use???
